I'm sure we all can. Here's the idea.

Take some of the
current wrestlers that we all know have bad gimmicks (i.e. Rob Conway,
Jillian Hall) and say what you would change about their current gimmick
or what you would do to completely revamp it.

1. Rob Conway: If
he's going to be a conman, don't have him dress like Mr. Slave from
South Park. Have him actually do some con work. Like Eddie
Guerrero would do all the time while he was a face, have him do it in
the ring to gain victories. Show him pertending to be important
people to try and get into clubs or have him get his way out of a
parking ticket. Have him be an actual con man.

2. Jillian
Hall: There is no need for a face blemish gimmick. The woman
could have just been a very hot publicist. Eventually she can
move on to be a manager of other wrestlers if they need a "fixer" of
bad publicity. She's the female problem solver.

3. Kerwin
White: Get rid of it all together. No one wants to see him like
that. It's just plain stupid. Chavo should have stayed on
Smackdown because he was one of the only things besides London the
Cruiserweight Division had going for them.

4. Simon Dean: Should
have toned down the fitness trainer gimmick and should have just let
him be a guy who's obsessed with fitness rather than be a Richard
Simmons wannabee trying to push his own product.

I think the Kerwin White bit could be great if they pushed the fact that its Chavo. Make it a real commentary on racial assimilation.

And I won't be happy with Simon Dean until he comes out as Nova. I want a Hurricane/ Nova feud and I want it now!

Stacy in a breast implants on a pole match. Loser has to get a boob job, and there's a stretcher and anesthesia waiting ringside. You thought Molly getting her head shaved was cringe? This will be cringe x10 when that gassssss starts and she's struggling

Take a no-name blue blood from WCW

Continue the gimmick in the WWF and even put him in PigPen Matches with Hillbilly Jim and Henry Godwin to punish him for his friends popularity

Slowly build his confidence and following with a good generational type group.

Have him turn on friends, kidnap the owners daughter force her into marriage then never ever put anyone over

I have been frustrated with the WWE (and the WWF before that) for a very long time. Vince and Co. have catered to the casual fan for way too long. Their writers know nothing about pro wrestling, they always go for look over substance, and they push bad workers (like John Cena). It has taken a long time, but the destruction of the territory system is finally really destroying pro wrestling. If TNA or ROH doesn't step up, wrestling fans will be saying "I got ZZERROOO ot of dat" concerning the WWE for a long time to come. The fact that a lot of good workers (and, to be fair, some bad ones) just got cut from the roster reinforces what Charlie Haas (who just got fired) said the WWE told him, that they will be concentrating more on the soap opera stuff than wrestling for the foreseeable future. That really sucks.

Despite what anyone says, pro wrestling is still about wrestling at its core. Almost everything they do violates the most simple rules of booking properly, but here are a couple of specific "character" recommendations:

1. STOP THE RIDICULOUS AND OFFENSIVE MEXICOOLS GIMMICK NOW!!! I was really happy when I found out that the WWE signed 3 of the best cruiserweights in the world, esp. after their performances at ECW One Night Stand. I figured this would add excitement and credibility to the cruiserweight division and to Smackdown as a whole. But NNNNOOOOO, we couldn't actually not screw up a surefire hit, could we?! Oh yes we could (see Invasion, The)!! Instead of having these 3 dress up like landscapers (when was the last time that real landscapers or their assistants actually wore blue mechanic uniforms?) and act like buffoons, how about letting them just be Mexican cruiserwreights and have kick-ass matches with London, Mysterio, Chavo, etc? They can be a good heel gang without being imbeciles and comedy acts.

2. STOP WASTING WILLIAM REGAL and CHRIS BENOIT!!! Steven (William) Regal is, along with Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle, one of the best actual wrestlers on the roster who can make a match really exciting just by (gasp!) going move for move with another good performer. Instead of having food dumped on him by the Mexicools, he should be feuding with Chris Benoit over the U.S. title, since these 2 are magic whenever they get in the ring together (as exemplified by their recent Velocity match).

Chris Benoit is my favorite current wrestler and is a former World Champion. More importantly, he is perhaps the best in-ring performer of his day. Stop having him job to far inferior performers who even he can't make look good in the ring (Orlando Jordan) and put him back in the main event after he feuds with William Regal. The fans are visibly really into Chris when he gets it done in the ring, but his heat has been slowly dying because of bad booking (fans are afraid to emotionally invest in someone who is being buried). To bury him in the midcard is a huge waste of talent.

</

See that's why I like TNA because all of their gimmicks are based off
of the personalities and ways that they perform. (See
"Phenominal" AJ Styles, Monty Brown, America's Most Wanted, hell, even
Jeff Jarrett's gimmick of wanting to take over the world of wrestling
is close to his personality)

Yes, that is a good point. TNA has its flaws, but at least it is good when it hits the mark. Of course, their crappy upcoming Spike TV timeslot may not be too much help and might set them up for failure, like it did with ECW (let's hope the show is promoted properly).

The WWE has taken the personalities away from their performers in favor of "mass marketing." It's very much like the process described in "Supersize Me" that McDonald's undertakes.

I haven't watched wrestling for sometime now.

But
I'd like to see less PPVs. Are they still having a Pay-per View per
month? And make the PPV something that you don't see on the
regular Wrestling show. How bout a LONG build up leading to the PPV (a
couple of minor run-ins, etc.) like a re-occurring feud instead of the
"feud of the week" which everyone just forgets about the next week due
the companies perception the fans having a short attention span.

As
much as I like T&A (heck I was all for it when all the hotties
started coming out) but it takes away from the wrestling. Unless the
ladies are Valets, managers or in the Women's wrestling division (is
there even one?), chuck the lookers. If I want to see strippers, I'll
go to the strip joint. Heck, if I had kids, I wouldn't want them to
watch wrestling cuz of the XXX kinda production.

Stop
bringing back the past the prime wrestlers. If you do bring some of the
old time wrestlers bring them in as a mentor to a younger wrestler and
you could have the up and coming wrestler take on the living legend in
a PPV (where the student no longer needs the teacher) or another former
living legend comes out and takes on the young one. Leaving the choice
to the manager to" "Return" into the ring to settle an old score with
the other living legend in a PPV or something.

Have they united the 2 brands already? Forget about
the seperate rosters for RAW and Smackdown and unite the clans. At
least the suspense of which wrestler may or may not show up that day is
still up in the air.

Get Vince some down time. Yeah,
we all know he's the boss. But it's over saturation with him already.
Focus on the wrestlers and let them wrestle.

Stop
with the SOAP operas and just get down to wrestling. Also do away with
the "Out of the Arena" Camera. If it doesn't happen in the ring, don't
show it. Like if wrestler X gets beat up by wrestler Y at the local
bar. (Besides, it looks too FAKE) If wrestler X gets beat up by
wrestler Y, have wreslter X come into the ring when Wrestler Y is
fighting to issue them a challenge.

No ONE cares about what celebrities are sitting at ringside. Or what show or movie is being pushed.

So
has wrestling changed sinced I last watched it? I hear HBK is feuding
with Hogan. That wouldn't be happening if the age for Soc. Sec. didn't
keep increasing.
