I think if they had introduced him as a face who was trying to
overcome adversity because of his background and had enforced that he
was a proud American as well as proud of his Arabic nature, this whole
mess wouldn't have happened.

Maybe when Mark Magnus goes back to OVW, Paul Heyman can help repackage him.

They could have made him a gyro chef or had him ride a taxi down the ramp on his way to matched.

Why is the WWE going back to these horrible stereotypes again? Are they really that uncreative?

Coulda, shoulda, woulda. WWE couldn't have done anything different with the character, because the fuckheads on the creative team (Mrs. Levesque included) don't have a clue anymore. They don't know how not to be offensive; to them, bad press is still good press, until very recently.

All they can do is bring Magnus in after a lengthy stay in OVW, and hope the more casual fans don't notice that he's the same guy as Hassan.

For what it's worth, I hope Daivari sticks around. Him I like.
Thanks WWFallon! You can be disappointed, but you cannot walk away. This fight has just begun.

"Dumb stereotypes"?

UP UNTIL THE UNDERTAKER ANGLE, how the hell was Hassan anywhere NEAR the "dumb stereotype" that the WWE is guilty of creating?

Davari should stay on the Cruiserweight roster with the excuse of
"Hassan went to far and I don't wanna be associated with someone like
that anymore."

What I don't get it why the WWE cares what UPN thinks. Unless I missed the news, wasn't UPN supposed to be dropping Smackdown in the near future? If so, why the hell would Vince submit to the demands of someone they wouldn't be working with anymore?

They need to make him a face...make up for all the past wrongs and misunderstandings.

Vince needs to get in the ring and make it know what the intentions really were.

TAKER THEN GETS A TITLE SHOT FOR ALL THIS CRAP...There I said it..the C word.

WWE just might as well take all of their programming and video
libraries and create their own cable network. But that's beyond
the point.

My friend was telling me that he though
if a major face like Mick Foley came out and instead of putting down
Hassan, they could defend him by saying, "He's an American just like
us. Just because he has an Arab background doesn't make him a bad
guy," or something to that effect. But you're right, WWE doesn't
care what kind of publicity it gets. They just have no
taste.

How about FBi ocmes out at the GAB to help out their Italian
American brother (he really is ITalian American if you didn't know) and
then "Hassan" (not going under his real name, which escapes me at the
time) delivers one great shoot promo against UPN and the WWE for
putting him in the position he is in now career-wise

now that would be beautiful

How about this.... THE WWE DID NOTHING WRONG! I watch other shows like 24 and guess what the terrorists are arabs. Lets face it you make a terrorist he is going to be an arab. Other tv shows are allowed to do this and no one has a problem with it but when the WWE does it, there is an outraged. The problem is people apparently do not realize the WWE is FAKE!

It's not about it being fake or not, it's that it hit a nerve too close
to home. When Stone Cold was everyone's favorite it was because
he was the guy you wanted to be. He beat up his boss, drank beer
whenever he wanted and cursed at anyone he felt like. D-X
epitomized the reckless "don't care about your rules" attitude of
teenagers and young adults at the time. These characters were
accpeted because they were archetypes, not reflections of real life
occurances in the world. To use terrorism as an angle for the
sole purpose of ratings is to me, disgusting. It's not shock
worthy, it's not "oh we're just kidding," it's just a lack of taste on
WWE's part.

I thought maybe one way the storyline could have been saved is put Undertaker and Hassan

on RAW, where they could have more freedom on SpikeTV.

Now I read this off wwe.com:

WWE.com has learned that Muhammad Hassan will be out indefinitely as a result of the Last Ride delivered to him by the Undertaker at The Great American Bash. I say they should bring davari who captures Hassan with his gang of thugs.....put hassan in a cage with scratchy video and say that if the wwe does not respond to the will of the people the infidel Hassan will be-headed. At which point Sgt. Slaughter and Hacksaw Jim Duggan break in and save Hassan and he gets a second chance at a career as he tries to win over the crowd....edgy - yes but it really could work that way

I wouldn't put it past them to do it. Don't give them any
ideas. I still think Davari shouldn't be screwed out of a
career. All he needs to do is just drop the "everyone's an
infidel" thing, say he belives Hassan took it too far and has decided
to go his own route.
