CBGB's announced it's closing after more than 30 years. Any memories?   Trivia question-What does CBGB stand for?  And OMFUG?

Trivia question-What does CBGB stand for?  And OMFUG?Stuff
closes down all the time everywhere. Besides, this is so compicated,

apparently this is it. He announced it on the radio the other day

They're building big projects all over the area, Houston, Bowery, etc.
And now the (Non-profit) landlord wants to triple the rent. And if you
know anything about NY real estate, when your landlord wants to double
your rent, he's bluffing. When he wants to triple it, he has big
corporate tenant, like "The Gap" or something.

What's CBGB? I dont think I have ever heard of it.  Might have seen it on shirts or something though.

It's a bar that launched some bands that no one's ever heard of. Real obscure stuff. Names like The Ramones, Blondie, B-52's, Patty Smith, Talking Heads... like I said... no one of consequence. I guess even small local bands such as those need somewhere to play.
