There have only been a handful of times when I truly questioned if something was a work or a shoot, and I must admit this is one of them. Something just seemed off about that whole incident and was a little too "real".

I mean, first off when he rushed the ring, there were venue security guys going after him. Being I've worked security like that, I can attest that both the WWE and our security company would not want us involved in something like that. The legal ramifications if one of the talent got hurt would be huge. Then Matt kept yelling out ROH. I honestly could not see Vince wanting someone promoting another wrestling fed, no matter how big or small it is.

Now, if I had to bet, I would most likely bet it was a work, but I honestly can't guarantee it wasn't.

I'm going with work. No way he'd get to attack Edge both
backstage then get out to the ring... Besdies, why else would the
camera be on Edge and Lita backstage?
quote: Besides, why else would the camera be on Edge and Lita backstage?

They occasionally show wrestlers walking to the ring, for no other reason than to show their match is next. Still, this would have been much more believable if they hadn't shown the backstage attack.

Plus, him yelling Lita instead of Amy makes it even less believable. Still, work or shoot, the WWE actually did a good job on this one to get people talking like this. I couldn't get on any wrestling sites come 11 pm and that's rare.

By the way, when I did finally get on WrestleZone, I caught this quote

Then again during the main-event, Hardy hit the ring and attacked Edge. Again the two were seperated by security, who hit the ring like it wasn't planned.

That kinda goes towards my theory that regular venue security wouldn't get involved in something like this unless it was real. Still slightly leaning towards work, but a shoot might not be out of the question.

WWE policy is to not show unauthorized ring distractions on-camera, as it would encourage copycat behavior from other fans.

Follow this logic:

1) The mic was hot. In order for this to happen, the levels would have to be up on the board.

2) The camera followed Matt the entire time.

3) Kane and Snitsky were conviently away from the ring.

Work. Work. Work.

But damn, what a great angle.

Finally something cool happened on RAW.

The only reason I questioned if it was a work or not was cause the black guy who grabbed Matt had him in a nice yoke hold from behind. I wouldn't think acting WWE security guys would get THAT physical. Nevertheless......good job.

Matt Hardy posts comments on his Web site
July 12, 2005

Following the events that occurred Monday night on RAW involving Matt Hardy, Lita and Edge, Hardy has posted the following comments on his own personal Web site:

"If you guys are ready for a ride, jump the f*** on. Well, I promised you all fireworks, so I hope I didn't disappoint. As of July 11th, 2005, my personal Independence Day, the Movement has begun-- and the Movement's purpose is two-fold. Purpose one--To never let anyone control what Matt Hardy says and does and thinks. Purpose two--To make Adam Copeland, Amy Dumas, and the WWE regret what they did to me, what they did to us. It's time for Matt Hardy to stand up for all the MFer's that have been chanting "We Want Matt", and "You Screwed Matt". Although you may not know this--you guys, the MFers, started the Movement months ago. I can now finally join the Movement because I am no longer controlled by the WWE. The McMahons, the Johnny Aces, and all of the WWE management can kiss my @$$. I did what I did tonight because for me to live with myself, Adam "Feces" Copeland must pay. I'm not going to let the WWE forget that they f***ed up when they released me instead of that scumbag home-wrecker. And Amy Dumas, you know what's it's like to have me as your closest ally--but you're gonna hate to see what it's like to have me as your worst enemy b*tch. Even though I didn't slash your tires FCF, slashed tires are going to be the least of your problems--Bank on it. A little message to the whore, the feces, and the horsesh*t "family" that is the WWE--Matt Hardy is like cancer, I don't go away and you won't find a cure. I thank EVERYONE that has supported me through thick and thin--I promise I will always be there for my MFers. I love you guys--and as I always say, without you, there is no me. I am going to turn a hugely negative situation into something that will benefit us. If you don't want to be able to predict what happens next, you're all in for a treat.

"P.S. - If you're thinking about pressing charges Vince, I got a couple bucks, I'll fight it. Besides, I think I might have some pixs and video from a camera phone that shows your officers Rodney Kinging my @$$. My wrist is cut from the handcuffs, and I would suggest that there was a little unnecessary roughness involved in kicking me out of your building."

Formerly RonFez Mark.

Its interesting that WWE.com has Matt Hardy's comment posted along side his picture, supporting the argument that this could be a work. Why would the WWE acknowledge such "unauthorized" actions?

here's something else...

quote:

Take it as a strong rumor at this point. But I received three calls from friends who are in NJ and claim that Matt Hardy is backstage at Raw. Georgianne Makropoulos of Wrestlingfigs.com has also noted he was spotted at Newark Int'l Airport earlier today.

Obviously a majority of you will read this after Raw airs on television. Therefore, I will not go any further right now as to why he is there.

However, if he could work out a deal with WWE, I would definitely have him do a run in from the crowd during the Kane / Edge match. Then he could escape back into the crowd. I would still allow him to work a few dates he has committed to on the indies. It will give the perception that he is not contracted to WWE, and the "run-in" was unscripted. Maybe even do this one or two additional times leading up to Summerslam.

We also thought (in a more scripted appearance), have his music hit again similar to the wedding. It will appear to be another tease by WWE. But this time though, he is seen on TV tonight. It sort of takes away some of the huge backlash WWE received for teasing Matt Hardy's entrance when they did that stupid wedding angle.

That's just some ideas how we would use him for now. But what do we know.

Thanks for reading.
Anthony DeBlasi
Wrestling-News.com

I'll go even one step more. Did Edge actually even cheat on his
wife with Lita? Did someone really start liking Matt Hardy and
decide if we're going to bring him back, let's create the most crazy
angle where no one knows if it's real or not? This could have all
been a plan to make Edge and Lita huge heels and Matt Hardy an
unbelievably popular face, and we all took the bait. Vince, after
signing CM Punk, is probably doing what he did with ECW and helping
them out in case any ROH stars get signed to the WWE. They're
allowing Matt Hardy to do some indy shows, but mainly ROH, and getting
him a huge fan base so that when he finally does go back to the WWE,
he'll be bigger than ever. He'll feud with Edge, probably go back
to some ROH shows, and hopefully, if he's even bigger now than he was
before, challenge for the WWE Championship.

Things like this make me want to start watching again. Just here and
there when I would watch it would be so incredibly bland and this
sounds like it was really exciting.

It does kind of sound like
maybe it was some kind of elaborate set up from the beginning. I don't
want to give the WWE credit by saying they could pull off an anagle
like this to literally dupe the Internet and Message Board reading fans
but who knows. I'll take the bait and watch again.

They better juice up some more angles though.

"OMGWTF Matt you LIED to us!!11!
At this point, I don't care if its a work or real, this is the BEST thing going on in wrestling right now! I don't see how they can keep this up. Eventually matt will either get in the ring with edge (if its a work) or he'll disappear to the indys (if its real). If it is a work and matt and edge wrestle, matt will kill edge (i don't care about size, you fuck another man's woman and he'll rip your spleen apart). If he doesn't, then maybe this whole affair was a work too (which would make it the greatest work of all time).

But if this is a work, how many of the MFers are gonna turn on him cause of this? I think that this might be the last storyline of matt's career, which sucks cause he's a great worker and one of my favorites
