Has anybody ever taken classes at TS? If so, please give me your input.I know this "GUY" (so I don't piss of Furtherman) who has been attending for only 2 weeks. His progress is astounding. Sensei also pulled me aside after class and commented on this guy's progress.I love the disipline and structure. I love the real life defense lesson they give to (2)7 year olds, and the fun they have. It is pricey!!  Over $100 per month.Have any of you guys ever been to TS. I want good stories, and bad!I'm dumping a lot of money on this guy, and want to make sure it is worth it. So far, my impression is nothing but positive.

Tiger Schulman dojos are money pits. They don't give a flying
F about you as a martial artist or a person. Get injured and let's say
you have to
take 6 months off. Believe me you will NOT be let out of your contract
or refunded any of your money during the time you rehabed your injury. 
I know several people who have dealt with Larry "Tiger" Schulman in general business dealings. They all say he's a crook.Rumor has it that he has been arrested several times for assault.

I knew someone who took classes at Tiger Schulman and she made it
sound like you pretty much buy your belts, regardless of
training.  Even worse, you were doing it in advance.  So it's
like pay us $1000 and you'll get up to the next belt in 3 months. 
TS is fast food martial arts. If someone is interested in really training, find a local school instead of a chain like TS.

TS is a joke in the martial arts community.  Any place that forces you to sign a contract is not a dojo, it's a business. I've trained for 15 years in Shaolin Kung Fu Boxing (Pai Lum Style, Black Dragon School) We trained in a collection of Grange Halls, open fields and occasionally rented schools for our share of the rent.  We trained hard every day and it took me 11 years to reach black.  I learned more in my first three years at that school than TS kids in a decade and it showed in competitions.  Karate itself is a very narrow art as far as it's usefulness and TS narrows that even furthur.  It is good only for exercise, not as a representation of ANY form of martial arts.  I would suggest you look online for schools in your area for real martial arts dojos or kwoons, not only will you get a better workout, but you will actually learn about fighting and yourself in the process.
