I admit they are not the most attractive sneakers I have, but they are more for performance than appearance. Id prefer a dark sole and dark sneakers personally, this way it doesnt look odd with jeans if I was wearing them to work or whatever. They weigh next to nothing! Like 7 oz total.
For casual wear, I recently got a pair of New Balance 806 that I like, because it seems to go with whatever I wear and they look cool to me.

The Nikes are more for me to wear while excercising because they will strengthen my legs and give me a more effective workout and maybe help problems I have been having with my legs. I dont really consider them a fashion statement.

I wore mine outside today (in the box when you buy them, they recommend you wear them around the house to get used to it). I did some walking in them and I am impressed with the lightness and freedom I feel. It is actually quite cushy of a feel, and whats kind of cool is feeling the bottom give way over uneven ground. You can imagine it as your toes and joints flexing and bending as you go along, while not feeling any restriction but at the same time, free from worry that youll cut your foot or something. I got the black ones so that I might wear them to work with my casual business attire.

From what Im reading, the idea behing barefoot excercise is that your legs and feet have to absorb more shock than traditional shoes allow and as a result, your legs get stronger and you burn more calories etc. At first when I was looking into these things, I wondered if theyd be any different than a "water sock" type shoes that people wear at the beack or in the pool. It is actually very different and a lot more comfortable. I tried walking in the water sock 2 months ago and I was in absolute agony, with blisters and stuff. This, it felt just right and I didnt experience any discomfort. I think I made a good choice.

Why is it people INSIST on making ASS UGLY sneakers these days? I'm so glad they're all expensive.

i had to buy a pair of kicks for the first time in almost 2 years recently. every looked like fucking moon boots. i have this thing with nike since seeing the michael moore movie where the c.e.o. pretty much jerked him around, and i also don't agree with 7 year old taiwanese children getting paid 30 cents a day, so i try not to support them. but even the stuff adidas is putting out lately is retarded looking. so i had to settle for a pair of nikes. and i hate myself for it. i don't even like them i just had to settle.

The last pair of sneakers I got was from Wal Mart. Yea, I guess they're not cool or trendy, but you know waht they were? Inexpensive and just black. No fucking air pockets, no decals, no chambers, no pumps, no multiple pairs of laces on each, no grills, no dual cams, no scienctific bullshit, no gang colors, no scumbag sports player's name on them, none of that silly shit. Just a pair of black sneakers. Actually, they're slip on, so no laces even. You can all have your neon, ugly ass sneakers.

My other pair of shoes are brown leather Bass shoes. They're pull on too with no laces. I like the sleek look of no laces now. Very nice.

I know what you mean Moe, but this is more about performance and training than a "look". Honestly though, they are a treat to wear. If I had a lot of money, Id get a light colored pair just to wear for summer.

I wore these tonite for a 6 mile power walk....all I can say is...

OH MY GOD

I am in love with these now! Seriously, anyone who runs or walks and likes a workout will think these are amazing!
I was wearing ankle socks with them for the first 2 miles and the socks began to chafe me so I pulled them off and realised the inside of the shoe is a silk like material with no seams and felt even better sockless! The bottoms have amazing grip and flexability while feeling as if you are walking on marshmellows. I didnt have any pain or come anywhere near twisting my ankle like I feared I would with this flexable sole. I even was intentally walking on uneven pavement and grass testing them out and can say that they are far better than I expected. I think they are worth every penny!

I was debating getting a pair of these this weekend when I go pick up a new pair of Air Force 1's....and now with Sr's resounding support for them, I will defintely be picking up a pair. If they suck SR, i will hold you personally responsible and will drive to your house and make you eat my pair of sneakers while wearing yours. Yea that will teach you :)

to begin with, i am not one to shell out more than $50 for a pair of sneakers, especially for the latest style. but i had to seek these out and am pretty happy. yes they hug like a water sock, but the base is as broad as a basketball shoe, and more flexible than anything comprable.

so if you're looking at them from a fashion point of view, yes they seem pointless. but from a training aspect, i'm hoping they will help my shin splints and make my recovery time shorter, since i play on a multitude of punishing surfaces; ie. various turf fields, natural grass, the dirt/ grass combo, and train on concrete, wood, rubber composite, etc...

so not only can i break my foot off in your ass, but i'm stylish and comfortable in the feat.
