Thanks for the article, Sundoggy.
I had a partner a few years ago that was a Moslem. He and I(A Catholic) spent many a midnight tour discussing our respective faiths. The similarities far outweighed the differences. Sometimes, if people would just sit down and talk with one another instead of listening to rumor and inuenndo, this world might be a better place.
Again, thanks, Doggy.

I'm incredibly happy that you liked it reeshy, and that you took the time to read it too.
I agree that it's all too easy and common to just believe rumor and hearsay, rather than actual fact.

Sundoggy,
The problem is that it is sometimes necessary to demonize those that we label as our enemy. It has happened in every conflict that man has ever had. The enemy always has to look like the devil and be evil.

In every normal circumstance, people must learn that it's ok to agree to disagree.
The caveat to that of course is that this must be agreed to by both parties. When one attacks the other, all bets are off. In such case the party attacked has the moral obligation to not only defend itslef, but ensure the attackers lack the ability to ever attack them or anyone else again.

I find it almost comical that all these members of the major faiths in the world are seperated by such small differences. All the major faiths have roots in the same doctrines, and yet, they all can't get along. Tehy all teach peace and understanding, but it never really gets through to people.
Religion dose nothing but seperate people. I can't see how anyone would follow such inherently evil organizations. All religion is a curse on humanity.

Moe, I agree that religion can be a major stumbling block in the unification of all peoples, but it is more fanatical devotion that is dangerous than the religions themselves.
I happen to have very close friends who are devout Catholics, Protestants, Jews, and Muslims. We never attempt to force our beliefs on one another, although we may discuss them from time to time.
They find tremendous comfort and fulfillment in their beliefs, as do I. I cannot classify that as inherently "evil".
