It made my heart sing.
And yet nobody remembers she won an Oscar for "The Miracle Worker".

Miracle Worker with Patty Duke and the fight scenes and then the one seen by gazillions, when the young Helen Keller understands the sign for 'water'?

Never heard of it.

=

One of the most gorgeous ladies to be projected on screen, and a true actress. When Mel Brooks put her The Elephant Man [are those surprises? I hope not], she made for scenes that made the movie a Revelation.

I only saw The Miracle Worker for the first time about a month ago. I thought the movie was awesome, and she was excellent in it. RIP

Anyone married to Mel Brooks is OK in my book. And I know he adored her.

She was Italian? Never knew.
