I'll share my experience with you on it.

Some of you might have seen these gimiks about building a big screen home theater system for 20 bux. That stuff is obviously a scam. Intersted enough, I dug deeper in to the idea of building an LCD projector and found this site www.lumenlab.com After reading for about a month on the stories and viewing all the results i decided to plunk down the 20 bux to see what it was all about. Bought the components that I needed and low and behold it actually worked. I ended up spending around 400 bux to complete the project and ended up with my own 110" perfect image.

I like to share my experience with others that might be interested in it without spending thousands of dollars trying to get something similar out of a commercial product. Below is the link to my projector throughout the build process with my final results. And of course i'll answer any questions from my buddays! Enjoy!

http://www.lumenlab.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=1576

Well the guide sure is 20 bux however i would say that the real benifit you get from buying the guide is access to the protected forum. Sure the guide has information on building it but really its the theory on how the whole process works. The forums is the real place you will find all the information you would need to take that theory and apply it. The forums are also loaded with compatible monitor lists peoples detailed drawing etc. I had access to the guide for free and and to plunk down my 20 bux so i could get in to the forums. Looking back after seeing what i ended up with i would have paid 100 bux for it. Its hard to trust other peoples word but i figure a budday could be trusted...

If you are decent with DIY projects, have some tools to use and have a some basic common sense this project is really not that difficult. Just have to be careful when handeling the lenses and LCD.

Well if you think so thats ok with me. I am just sharing my experience with others that might have had an interest. A lot of people would blow it off as garbage but those that actually read up on it end up changing their mind. But i thought just as you and certainly i would not come to the off topic forum of ron and fez to post spam. I have very few posts i read mostly been a member for some time now...

btw, the spam that you probably saw in the past was the TV in a cardboard box to get 150" big screen. This certainly is not it. A commercial projector has a light source, collmenating lens, condensor lens, LCD panel, and a triplet. So does this thing and its way less expensive. If the mods belive it to be spam then plz delete the post, i certainly do not want to offend anyone or my buddays...

How did you get the manual free? (before you decided to pay the fee to have access to the forums) And if you are such a "budday" why didn't you just share the info sans sales pitch?

A friend of mine bought it and i was looking at it at his house. Not trying to sell anything just showing off my projector.
