I can to agree with this. 18 is a bit strong but it is for other things too. Kids shouldnt be able to buy games like San Andreas just like they cant watch R rated movies.

Show me the child who after playing a video game, gets pumped up to go out and kill somebody? Give me a break. We're all so afraid for the children, oh the children, save the children...we were all children...i grew up on GI JOE and 80's television...the most VIOLENT era in tv ever....I turned out fine. I no more want to seek "first blood" than any child now a days wants to run over a latino guy in a rusty old car, bang a hooker, kill her and take her money to buy health and ammo at the local gun shop.

Give me a break. Violence has more to do with mentally or physically abusive parents...or bad neighborhoods...bad schools...poor role models...

The difference from movies is that there's no
law forcing theaters not to admit minors into R rated movies. They do
it voluntarily. The same thing is being done with Mature rated
videogames. This is just a cynical ploy by lawmakers looking to make
easy points with voters by scapegoating an issue, and doing a horrible
job of writing it by being incredibly vague to the point where any
court in the country would strike it down. They've literally learned
nothing from similar laws that were struck down. I almost believe they
did this purposely to get credit for doing something they won't be able
to do and aren't seriously planning to do anyway.

And it's just
great that some poor kid who's working a part-time job could be subject
to a $1,000 fine for not playing parent to a kid who's a few years
younger than he is. The laziness of parents today knows no bounds, and
is only rivaled by their willingness to scapegoat anything in
sight.
