Hey everybody, my friend and I just played and small accoustic set at a bar on Thursday night (him on guitar, me on bass) . . anyway, the set went good, but we want to change it up if we get invited back in 2 weeks. Here's the songs we played, and some of the songs we're going to add. I was just wondering if anyone had some suggestions of songs they'd like to hear that maybe we could add.

Current Songs:
Tom Petty - Mary Jane's Last Dance
Oasis - Wonderwall
Lemonheads - Into Your Arms
Sublime - What I Got
The Cure - Just Like Heaven
Unwritten Law - Seeing Red
Greenday - Time of Your Life
Staind - Outside
Cash / NIN - Hurt
Lit - My Own Worst Enemy
Poison - Every Rose has its Thorns
Third Eye Blind - Semi Charmed Life
Dave Matthews - Where are you Going
Pixies - Where is my Mind
Smashin Pumpkins - Disarm
Jimmy Eat World - The Middle
Soul Asylum - Runaway Train

Here are some of the songs we're thinking of adding:
Blue Oyster Cult - Don't Fear the Reaper
James - Laid
Rick Springfield - Jessie's Girl

If anyone has any suggestions, whether it be songs to add or even remove, it would be appreciated.

Oasis - Wonderwall

They almost always do this as an acoustic song when played live, with Noel singing (much, MUCH better than Liam on this one), and have been doing that for quite a few years now. Finding a live recording online shouldn't be hard at all.

Ryan Adams did a great acoustic version of it on his album Love is Hell.

Lemonheads - Into Your Arms

Same as above...Dando spent the last couplea years doing mostly solo acoustic tours, so finding a bootleg should be easy.

There's a great import-only album he put out that has similar versions of other classic Lemonheads songs...

I played in an acoustic duo. Some of the biggest applause of the night comes from the more obscure songs OR songs that we rearranged into an acoustic format. We started out doing a lot of the typical unplugged songs ("Wanted Dead or Alive" and "Comfortably Numb" etc..) but, the fun & unexpected stuff really gets the good reactions.

"Life In A Northern Town" by Dream Academy

"Man In The Mirror" by Michael Jackson

"1979" by Smashing Pumps

"Devil Went Down To Georgia" Charlie Daniels.

"If You Want My Love" by Cheap Trick

"Rich Girl" by Hall & Oates

"Bohemian Rhapsody" by Queen ( heavily re-arranged obviously)

"Human Nature" by Michael Jackson

"I'm looking for the 'Make Believe Ballroom'....Don't get fresh, Buddy!"

my uncle used to an acoustic nite at few local bars, and he basically played some gin blossums, freedy johnston, soul asylum, r.e.m, the 'mats -- very 90s, very WDRE ...

but the biggest hit of the nite was 'no diggity' - blackstreet ... very cool, very much fun ... that and the mister softy theme ...
