Every Monday when I'm watching 24, when they show the preview to what is going to be on their news, my wife and I just shake our heads in disbelief. They are pretty much the equivalent of the National Enquirer when it comes to real news.

They are pretty much the equivalent of the National Enquirer when it comes to real news. You give them that much credit? You're generous! Have you ever seen a Fox news teaser that wasn't aimed at scaring the shit out of people?

I remember this partly because it was the day Jerry Orbach died I believe, but the prez was doing a speech on his energy policy and Fox News was running the "clever" and concise summaries that they do and they actually had a caption that had Bush's words exactly as he said them, but BEFORE he said them. Now the fact that this speech was LIVE and that Fox News might as well have been putting the words in his mouth was just really offputting.

I was watching Fox News a couple weeks ago and they and CNN were doing a story on gas prices at the same time and both networks compared European and American gas prices and it was just so remarkable that I was able to watch Fox News do the story and compare the prices with taxes (Europeans pay about twice to thrice the amount that we do but about 75% is in gas taxes) and then almost on cue was able to switch to CNN and have them give me the real story where I was given the actual facts and that European countries just put heavy taxes on their gas to {gasp} encourage alternative energy sources.

Fox News: Making Wolf Blitzer Look Like Less of An Asshole Every Second of the Day
