<p>Anyone see Tom Cruise on TODAY with Matt Lauer?&nbsp; They bickered for 6 minutes about Psychologists, Antidepressants, and Depression.&nbsp; It was, for once, an honest to god DISCUSSION between an interviewer and a guest.&nbsp; F'ck the pre-interview and all that nonsense!</p><p>Both of them had an agenda. Tom doesn't believe that prescription medication is a CURE for depression...it merely masks the symptoms.&nbsp; Matt, obviously, lives with someone who has seen/felt the benefits of Ritalin.&nbsp; The two of them went back and forth for a long time.</p><p>For the record....I think Lauer was really the bad guy in this one.&nbsp; He asked Tom a question which, by the way, had NOTHING to do with the movie and Tom answered it.&nbsp; He asked Tom about his anit-depressant drug stance. When&nbsp;Matt didn't get the answer HE wanted...he repeatedly reworded his question in an attempt to get Tom to give the answer that HE wanted to hear.</p><p>&nbsp;In my opinion, the question was asked an answered.&nbsp; 100%.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;If you're a professional journalist, you don't attach your PERSONAL feelings to the interview. </p><p>Either way, it was good to see an interview that wasn't just fluff and filler.</p>

long as they can dupe people into paying attention to their non-insane

Bible. And imagine the amount you'd need to pay to see the whole thing
would amount to over $250,000. People bankrupt themselves over this
religion. It doesn't matter to celebrities who can easily afford it,
and the heads of the church are smart enough to keep them seperated

<p>I agree with Tom that SOMETIMES (not all) antidepressants are merely a band-aid. They SOMETIMES mask the symptoms instead of CURE the problem.&nbsp; Sometimes.&nbsp; </p><p>It's also worth mentioning that SOME doctors prescribe these medicines for all the wrong reasons (lazy, commission, etc etc....)</p><p>Tom wasn't saying that HE is a Doctor...he was saying the he's read the information that various Doctors have written and drawn his own conclusions....which is more than Matt Lauer can say.&nbsp; </p><p>The thing that&nbsp;DOES bother&nbsp;me about Tom Cruise is that he came off a bit condescending and slighly pompous.
