Why the hell do people leave them out like it is some sort of medal. It says right on the flag "remove after 24 Hours".

I have seen neighbors, after a week, move the flag, mow, and then replace the flag.

This is not honorable folks. To me it means you can't take care of your own lawn and must seek professional help.

If, God forbid, I ever needed the fucking Lawn Dr., I would have that fucking banner removed the minute I got home from work. Oh, the shame!!

flags? we don't need no stinking flags!!

i've NEVER used them

on a sidenote, i am planning to cut my lawn for the first time on Wednesday and i am pretty excited about it. It is thick, plush, and emerald green, and when i'm done it will look like a plush carpet. It rarely looks better than it does now due to the recent fertilizing and the cool nights. I just talked to my wife and her and the girls were playing ball on it earlier this evening and really digging how thick and soft the grass feels...

I also worked on my 11 year old Craftsman tractor today. I took the mower part off, power-washed it, and sprayed a primer on it. Tomorrow i'm gonna spraypaint it a high-gloss black, and I got new blades. I gotta keep this puppy running being i ain't got a grand or so to lay down on a new one. She runs great and does a nice job...

I don't see shame in it (unless they just don't work and are too drunk to mow)

I have such a small yard and I don't work long hours so I don't have this problem.

i thought people left the flags out so other people are less likely to walk across their lawn. my dad would do anything to stop people from walking across his...of course that just makes his kids, including me, want to do it more.

BAD NEWS!

i went to put a coat of gloss on the mower section today and i realized there is a metal piece attached to the top of this mower section that connects to the arm that raises and lowers the level of the mower. This metal piece's weld had broken about 3 years back so i put two bolts in to hold it. But now the bolts rusted and the area around the bolts had mostly rusted away so it wasn't going to hold up. I couldn't get the bolts off so i pried the metal piece off with the rusty bolts and the metal that was securing the bolts.

Now theres a hole in the mower section and i have no way to get this piece back on unless i weld it somehow. I think it's time for that new tractor so i'll be heading off to Sears, Lowes, or Home Depot in the morning.

what are you gonna do hah?

there, obviously, because they think it will keep people, mainly
neighborhood kids, off of the lawn

i figured i'd keep this party going with an exciting, titllating update on my lawn tractor sitiation: here goes

> old one rusted - went to Sears hardware and picked out one on the floor - it was being discontinued so i saved 300 plus another 10% being it was the floor model

> also bought a 3 bagger grass catcher(wanted two bagger but they didn't have it so i figured i'd try the 3 bagger) - went home and hooked up my trailer and went to Sears and we loaded the tractor and the bagger on

> got home and installed the bagger on, and it was just too big/wide. makes it tough to get in close to edges but i kept it on. next day i realize i have to 2 bagger on my old mower so i check to see if i can transfer it to the new mower, it looks okay (i wasn't sure because one tractor is 11 years older than the other) this 2 bagger is eleven years old and a little beat up but it does the job.

> i take the 3 bagger off and put it back in the box and transfer the two bagger, cool! plus i saved 349 bucks returning the 3 bagger.

> used the new tractor and it works nice. one feature i don't care for though that's different from my old tractor is you have to disengage the blades before going in reverse or else she cuts off. I will have to see if i can disengage that feature. I don't see a problem with having the blades running while in reverse, not sure why they put that feature in?

that closes this chapter
