That show had everything that today's cartoons lack... storylines, patriotism and Sgt. Slaughter. Damn Cobra or what we would like to call today, Osama bin Laden!

Keep your head up, America! We'll eventually get through this.

I'll get a new sig in due time, all in due time...

G.I. Joe is one of my biggest guilty pleasures. I loved the cartoon, I loved the comic, I loved the toys....

And I still do. This is my geek obsession. They got a lot of new stuff out too. They're putting out new action figures, but I'm more happy that they've made a new comic book.

Anyone remember the cartoon fondly? My personal favorite was the "Cold Slither" episode. "We're Cold Slither, you'll be joining us soon! A band of vipers, playing our tune...."

I go way back on this one.
In the 60's, there was no cartoon. If we wanted to watch war we had Combat, Rat Patrol and other cool war shows. GI Joes back then were cool action figures..they even made WW2 Joes. I had the Nazi, the English, the Jap and most of the US branches, along with the astronaut Joe in a cool space capsule.

Hey Heckler,

You're bringing back memories man! I needed to buy a few space suit's because the foil kept ripping. Also, what was that thing that went in his hand? It looked like a radiator.

I also had the Helicopter, The deep sea diver w/ the led shoes, and the black spy fatigues w/ the inflatable raft.

My kid brother had all the G.I. Joes. He even had a wooden foorlocker to put all the crap in. The little freak even inventoried all the equipment that the Joes came with.

I actually found a "Snake Eyes" figure in my basement last month - I bet that he's worth a pretty penny!

Did any of you have the Air Craft Carrier or any of the huge planes that you could get? Those were great.

LOL..I had the deep sea diver and it had a tube to blow bubbles with it. The Space capsule came with a record, a 45 of Alan Sheperd's Mercury mission. Pretty cool!
