Just because it's outdated, doesn't make it okay. AK-47's are cheap and outdated, but they're the #1 choice among insurgents and rag terrorists.

I guess nuclear proliferation isn't that important anymore. </P>
<P>As a side note, Musharraf may be the only person standing between a pro-US government in Islamabad and an anti-US fundamentalist one. And he's survived at least four assasination attempts, (at least one narrowly), since 9-11. He has high-level officials in his military and intelligence services that are sympathetic to al-Quaeda, and he's walking a fine line between cooperating with us and being deposed by a popular revolt led by conservative religious institutions. F-16s to not protect him from any of that. In fact, I can't imagine any reason to scrap this important US law. Except maybe that the neocons are still way too overconfident at their ability to contol world events. Just like Afghanistan did in the 80's, this will probably come back to bite us in the ass, big time. </P>
