My thought is to open a mutual fund in her name.
Dump a bit of cash into it (Fidelity or JPM have some good stuff)
In a few years it can be used for college, a car, travel, etc...
Get the rest of the family to chip in on this fund for birthday, graduation, etc.
and it will add up.

My advice is a silver necklace or bracelet from Tiffany's. They have some beautiful things in the $150 - $250 range and the fact that you got it from Tiffany's will show you care.

Thats what I was thinking..
I was also kind of hoping for some womens suggestions too, especially any that got gifts from their godfather for their sweet 16.

Ill tell you this though..Im just about partied out! Every month so far, Ive had some kind of family function thats costing me $$!! Im thinking of moving out West to get away from this! The week after that I have yet another party!! :-(

How so? You mean you have to give gifts to your goddaughter forever??? Even when she's 30 or something. There is going to be a transition time when she'll have to accept that she won't be getting stuff like she used to get when she was younger.

I was kind of wondering that myself, at what point is the "cut off" for the gifts.. I still send her Easter cards and birthday $ Christmas cards with $$ in them. It isnt like I see her more than 3 times a year really..

As far as the "hot" question goes, she is pretty, but she has a few buddies that are fucking hawt!

Maybe after this, Im going to start backing off with the gift giving. I use to get cards from her, but then they became sparatic...
