The "humanitarian" aid makes me sick. How can we do this to people who we're at war with and who want to see us all dead?

It's a very safe bet that this aid will end up in the hands of the taliban. The food used to sustain their troops and the multi millions of dollars given to them will be used to purchase weapons to shoot our soldiers.

But this is a typical Bushism. Support the people who are trying to kill us. Shut down abortion clinics that can provide our own citizens with a better way of life.

Well, partly, it's a strategy. Partly, it's a little world PR.
If we can weaken the Taliban's base of support amongst the Afghani people, maybe show that we're not the devil, it'll be easier to oust them.
