Is there a good program for updating mp3 files with the proper ID tags. I have some O&A and R&F bits that I would like to add to my ipod though whenever I drag them over to iTunes they're always without names, so I'd like to see if there is a simple program I can use to update the files. I know I can do it individually in iTunes though I'd like to find another program do this as well.

You can use Winamp for that if you click the 'I' on the top left.

I use winamp as well. If you click the name of the song, you can edit both the 3v1 tag and the 3v2 tag (I always do both so it works almost anywhere).

I spent HOURS one night updating the info of my O&A and R&F MP3's through iTunes. Is there an easier way that I missed out on? Did I do it the wrong way, or at least a dumber way?

I wrote a batch program to do it a while ago. I did it month by month, and incremented the tag by 1 day each time. it was fairly easy. I will see if I still have the program.

I like this program:
mp3tag - it's freeware
http://www.mp3tag.de/en/
It's also good for tagging your ripped MP3's by accessing freedb (a non commerical version of CDDB) It can tag all your album music automatically if the album or song is listed on the freedb database.
I also like Tag&Rename 3.1.7 a commerical software
http://www.softpointer.com/tr.htm
Both programs can do batch ID tagging

Can someone please tell me what these programs are good for? Sorry, I'm just not familiar with what I've been missing.
I have a lot of Unhallowed music that isn't in an online database, so I label it all myself. Is there anything I could use this for with my music? O&A bits? Shit I download?
I'm lost with this one, and I want to know what you're talking about.

A lot of mp3 identification programs give you the ability to rename a bunch of files at once. So say for instance you have an album with 20 or 30 tracks. You don't want to be renaming all the files with the name of the band or artist. With this you can label each track with the artist info and then fill in each file individually with the track name.
If you have a bunch of O&A or R&F bits and you want to pre-abel each file with Ron_&_Fez_.mp3 you can do so and then go back and fill in the names for each of the files. As in "Ron_&_Fez_-_Iris_Calls.mp3" etc...It just makes things a little easier.

Thanks Reef. That means I didn't have to spend hours renaming my entire O&A collection so that they all had the same album and artist labels so they came up in my iPod correctly.
Fuck me man.

Zactly, that's what I do, label them so it's easier to find the shows.
One more thing. The nice thing about some of these programs is they can create playlists for you so the segments can be associated with one playlist in your iPod.
