I actually have a similar problem with listening to O&A these days.  I get done work at 6am and I'm usually in bed listening to the show by 7am.  I barely make it past the first hour of the show.  I live for the replays throughout the day(listening right now as a matter of fact).I'm hoping for something like this:O&A - 7-11AMO&A Replay - 11AM - 3PMRon&Fez - 3PM - 7PMO&A Replay 7PM - 11PMRon and Fez Replay 11PM - 3AMO&A Replay 3AM - 7AMI don't know much about Ferrall, so I could do without him.  If he comes to High Voltage also and turns out to be a good fit, I'd be happy.  I just hope we don't lose all the replays.

I'm not sure about Rogin, Especially by himself.  Somebody on another messageboard was trying to spread a crazy rumor of a possible Jay Mohr/Rogin show.  I can't see it ever happening, but that, I'd probably enjoy.

The only Thing I may switch is the O&A reply from 7-11 with ron and fez.  I agree completely. A 3-7 I don't think Ron and Fez show wouldn't be as good as a 7-11 show. I just think that a show even 5-9 or something would get better listeners

GET THE MYFI.....trust me. I have the Roady and MyFI and gave the Roady away after I got the MyFI.  The MyFi hooks up to your car, your home, and you can carry it around.  It is more money but you are definately going to use it more.  The best part is recording O&A and soon R+F and listening to it semi live...The "husband and wife team" hint yesterday on The Opie and Anthony Show convinces me it is going to happen soon.  "The boys are back in town. Have R+F dropped any hints recently?  is their last show coming up ??

Crazy Jen in the hole, Ron made a comment. He said something like
"We'll be in the 212 when she's calling the 202" about when her ban is lifted.

Do R&F HAVE to go back to NYC to get on XM202? I don't think they HAVE to....but I'm guessing based on everything they've said that they'd rather live in NYC than DC. But couldn't they do the show from XM in DC before they moved to NY?

Man, this couldn't have come at a worst time for me if they jump right to XM.  I'm broke as a joke at LEAST until the end of June with everything going on my life...I have about $60-$75 every two weeks outside of all my bills and expenses to spend on myself every for at least two months...NO GOOD.

I just got a hot tip that Ron and Fez are moving to Short Wave.  They will buy a house in Cuba and bounce their signal off the Ionosphere to the NYC area.  They're just gonna live there, leave the mic open and the humor will just happen in real time.  It's like Ron and Fez meets The Real World, but without a black guy.

That would be totally cool if it's tru that Ron and Fez are going to
shortwave.  That frequency can broadcast all over the world; 
and they can have their own frequency!!!  24/7 Ron and Fez. 
And, on top of that, shortwave radio sales would totally go up.

I believe this WAS their last show.

They mentioned alot of stuff to make it cleary seem like they will be on air on Monday.

But it almost felt OVER done. Almost sarcastic. But not obviously.

I think "Your Mom's Box" has been used enuff that management knows what they are talking about.

I believe WJFK probably let them go in a fair way in return for them being very respectful on their way out.

O&A already mentioned that R&F are already signed.

Which means that WJFK would have just yanked them off the air if they were being hostile.

They came to an agreement and were asked to not mention it at all.

Can't wait for Monday!!!!!

The deal just went official. You buy ANY XM
receiver, that can be one of the plug and play ones or the head units
for the car, and you can send for a free Roady2. The fine print is that
they will send you the radio pre-activated and charge you up front for
three months service. And if you cancel those 3 months, they will
charge you for the Roady2.

So this seems good for someone who is
looking to get multiple radios, but people won't be able to pair up and
get themselves on radio each since the radio you buy and the radio you
get for free need to be on the same account. So that kinda sucks. Isn't
as good as I thought it was, but it's still a great deal for people
looking for multiple radios.

Oh, and the deal is good until July
2, so you have plenty of time to wait until Ron and Fez make their
plans official. Hopefully. Unless they plan on jerking us around all
summer, or indefinitely.

Not a bad deal. I can get my dad to pay half for a Roady2, then give him the free one. We can each pay half of the $20.99 family plan (which would be cheaper than the $12.95 single plan). I like!!!! So now that R&F are apparently going to XM i'm going to get it. Now my question is, with this offer they are giving. I want one for my personal truck and work truck so that way i can listen during work. I get that they are giving away the roady2 or whatever (i'm not that familiar with the hardware) will i have to pay a subscription fee for both units? that wouldn't be worth it for me. A couple guys i work with have the MyFi and has an antennae for both his personal and work trucks and takes it with him. If i have to pay 2 subscriptions it seems that the second option is the way to go? Comments, suggestions?

Hey guys.. I see a lot of questions about XM and how it works.. I've had XM for a few years now (since the company launched service) So, I can give you a little rundown of their products.Roady (2) Is a plug and play unit. It can work in the car, and home, and if you do some searching you can get an "Armie" wich plugs and antenna, and battery pack into your unit and it can be used as a walkman, but that's not too great only lasts a couple of hours before needing a recharge. It usually comes with a car kit, wich plugs into your lighter. To make it work at home get a plug from raio shack, and bring the antenna with you inside. It has a built in FM modulator, so you tune your radio to a set channel (89.1 I think) and it sends the signal. runs around $100SKi-fi (2) Same as the roady, but this had a bigger screen, more search ability, and is able to record on the fly. you can buy a home kit, and a car kit, also a boombox. It's slightly larger then the roady, but this is my fav. plug and play one. It runs about 100-150 kits run $50 for home and car. My-fi This is the Ipod of XM radios.. It's a small cell phone sized unit that works as a walkman, and has home and car kits.. It's fairly expensive, but prices are starting to come down. It records up to 4 hours of the show and runs on rechargable cell phone type batteries. It runs about $180-$250 If you have an "XM ready head unit" then you can get a Tuner that connects to your stock radio.. This is what I have in my car. It has a very small antenna that you can mount on your trunk or roof, and a small tuner box that is mounted inside your trunk hidden from the eye. A couple of wires run up to the front of the car hidden, and they connect to the power, and to the stereo. you click on the button on your stereo that changed from FM to AM to CD to XM and tune it that way.  You need to know what brand stereo you have, because they all have different cables needed... The old tuners you needed to buy the tuner that was the same brand as your stereo, now they sell a generic one, and seperate adapters for each brand.. The tuner runs for about $60-$80 and the adapters run 20-40. These are only for after market stereo's that ARE XM ready. I didn't see a FM modulator ki last time I looked at XM stuff.  there are other models of XM stuff, but the ones I listed are usually the most popular. If you are thinking about getting XM run to a best buy, or local store that sells XM, and mess around with all the different products, and find one that fits your budget, and needs. Also, XM always runs promotions, and when O and A came out, they where doing promo's for a $50 roady 1 with a 3 or 6 month subscription. Not a bad deal. Also, you may be able to get away with buying a used unit on Ebay if you are strapped for cash on one of the more expensive models, and just save for the one you want.  XM subscription info. There are different pricing plans for the amount of time you pay for. you can do month to month wich is about $13. Or buy a year up front and it's slightly cheaper, then there are 2,3,4,and 5 year plans as well. I am not sure if this is valid for new members, but I locked myself into a very low price because I bought a 5 year plan for $500. The subscription now includes High Voltage, and the online stream, so you don't have to worry about the extra $2 a month to listen to Ron and Fez / Opie and Anthony.  For you guys that have never listened to XM, it truely is a great product.. The music stations alone kept me off FM radio.. the only time I listend to FM was to listen on WNEW to O and A and Rona nd Fez. When O and A got pulled, I only listened to Ron and Fez.. Then when they got transfered, I haven't turned on FM radio since. XM has a ton of stations with all types of music on them.. The music stations don't play commercials at all, and even O and A only play like 5 minutes of commercials every hour - hour and a half. Hearing Ron and Fez with only 5 mi

Actually if you are looking into the roady, you don't need 2 car kits if you are willing to have it not look SO neat. My friend drives a dodge pickup, and he tosses his antenna on the dash board, and sticks the roady in a cradle that plugs into his lighter, and then when he switches to his car, he just pulls it all out and puts it in the car the same way. more wires lying around, but it works. If you get two car kits, you can just set them both up in each vehicle, and when you switch just pull the unit out of one, and put it into the other cradle. That way all you are moving is the little walkman sized unit, and you can tuck wires away so it looks cleaner.

There is an accessory that
turns the Roady into a portable, it's called the Roady2 Personal Audio
System. It's a casing for the roady that has a battery, and the antenna
is in the headphones, so you have to use the headphones supplied.
However, the accessory costs at least $100, on top of the $100 for the
Roady2, so I wouldn't reccomend it.[color=navy]The real XM walkman is the
MyFi. It has a built in antenna, and if that doesn't get reception, it
has a small attachable antenna as well, although most people say the
built in one works fine. And the great thing about the MyFi is that it
has built in TiVo like functionality. When you leave it in the home
dock, it can record certain shows. So if you want to record an O&A
show or hopefully one day a R&F show, it can do that and you can
listen to it on your walk. Or just listen to the live broadcasts.I'd
say, for what you want, the MyFi. Or if you don't like the look, the
Tao XM2Go or the Pioneer AirWare. Those two are essnetially the same
thing as the MyFi, with exactly the same functionality and hardware,
just in different casings and made by different companies. The Tao and
the Pioneer should come out very soon.

correction, the MyFi can save 5 hours of programming at maximum
fidelity (i.e. music). But different XM programs have different audio
qualities. So it can save like 12 hours of alot talk programs, since
they're usually more compressed.

 You want the MyFi. It is the only "walkman" style sattelite
radio (the Roady 2 has a sort of a Walkman kit but it isn't as good as
the myfi, and it costs as much as one). You can get one for $180 from
XM's Freinds and Family deal.  You'll love it, it makes this whole
sattelite radio thing really convenient and easy. I'm so glad I got
mine.

I heard it between 7:30 and sometime after 8 this morning, so I would guess during the 2nd hour of the show. I missed the beginning and only heard the show from when I got in my car to go to work. I heard it midway through the first rant which was the Fez on air argument about his grandmothers death. I'm not really sure how long before that they were playing or talking about it.

that. I also know that Opie and Anthony have asked their fan sites,
including Wackbag which is the official unofficial fan site, not to

It was interesting in that it was the first time O&A played a Ron & Fez bit and referred to them as Ron & Fez.  I think this is a sin that they have signed a contract with XM!  No more Dan & Dan!  It's all coming together!!!

best that large scale trading remain underground as much as possible,
as XM likely has a different view. 
Of course they'd prefer people get XM, and obviously they cannot

Infinity, although this would be a bigger problem in pay radio), but
they also know that stuff like this will bring people aboard.

When Oanda were on
infinity they offered to back up (legally and financially is what it
sounded like)  anyone who got in trouble for streaming their
show.  Unfortunately that was close to the end of their time
there, so we never knew if they were just waving their D around or if
they were really willing to stick it in the fat chick.  Lars, on the other hand, is an enormous dick.

From what you guys are saying about O&A backing up people who share their old stuf, it sounds like they are following the old Grateful Dead pattern. More people (and bands) should. They were consistantly one of the biggest money making bands and they did it by encouraging people to have as much access to their product as possible. That's why I can't understand why Infinity doesn't stream their shows. It just doesn't make sense.

I think that's a really good point. I agree with you. However; lets remember that it's not really their fault it got this blow out of proportion and became such a HUGE deal. O&A and R&F have each made comments for a month or two now, but we're the ones who are taking this to the extreme. If the XM announcement came 3 or 4 weeks ago it would have been BIG NEWS and this board would have blown up.  If the announcement comes mid-week next week or something the response here may just be, "yeah, we figured..." But this is a big career move for R&F it's not a gimmick/bit to "surprise/entertain" the audience. We're speculating and obsessing on their lives/careers. Can you imagine a board dedicated to you and your career and your performance on the job each and every day/night. With crazy speculation "I heard he may be in line for a promotion...OHHH BOYYY" or..."the latest rumors have him quitting his job and working for another company..!" Whoa.But back to your point, I agree with you. It will be anticlimactic...but we did it to ourselves.

When R and F did that shit to Billy, that was very funny and didn't come across serious. When O&A did it that was tastless and fucked up.

With that said, Lets see. 8 hours of AFRO. That's 1/3 of a day. Holy s. All I'm going to do from now on is school,work,radio,sleep...At least in early 2000 I didn't work, this is going to be a lot.

i realize there's a high level of mutual respect and admiration for the two shows, but all this 'a.f.r.o.' talk is getting a bit muchwhen they were on the same station, even back to back, i don't remember the constant crossovers ... it was a unique and infrequent occurence, that's what made it specialwhat i really love about the show is the level of fans ... other shows have their fervent legions, too quick to defend and immortalize ... ron & fez seem to have a more level-headed fanbase that reflects their more laid back style they've been at this for ten/fifteen years ... they rode the highs, weathered many storms and really seem to know how to play the game ...

under that night and asaid he was one of their friends and a radio
professional who would not "break down" like he did unless he was under
huge stress (i am paraphrazing) - how can you say they were mean...
there is no one O&A like more in radio today... if they were mean it would have been much worse... the cringe factor of O&A's bit was the tapes itself... not what O&A did

If and when the Jump happens i hope that AFRO  shows are few and far between. I cant wait to hear R n F on XM but i was never that big a fan of the AFRO show. I loved when anthony would guest but i feel Opie never realy added anything to the show. When ron or fez would appear on Oand A i always thought they killed. I guess im a fan of the AFR shows.

Funny thing is - whatever happens odds are D&M will more than
likely mention it first; if R&F are yanked off WJFK, they will
mention it - if it turns out they got a new contract with Infinity,
D&M will more than likely mention it, knowing R&F don't talk
about such behind the scenes stuff.The last time this happened,
nothing got mentioned anywhere on the air - just a DCRTV blurb. Ron and
Fez just kept doing their show. It would not shock me if that happened
again - just leaving people scratching their heads. I
wouldn't be surprised if WJFK lets them do a "goodbye" show, if they
are leaving - they know that R&F are professionals, and they have
put in 5 years on the station. Of course, I also wouldn't be surprised
if they just took them off without any fanfare. In other words - when
it comes to WJFK and Infinity, nothing will surprise me.

before  the bit that fez had been drinking all night & that he
was having tough personal issues. one of the interns, i forget which,

I personally think that OnA did not mean to disrespect RnF.  They did play Ron tearing Camron a new one and they played brother weeze (who has cancer and is going through chemo) talking to his daughter over the phone (really sad stuff).  They were doing it just to prove there was still some good radio drama (cringe) on terresterial.  Even Ron constantly mentions that Fez's breakdown was great radio.But i do think playing Fez break down was not a good idea in some respects.  They might have a hardtime at 1st on sat radio (with all the truckers and red necks and assholes calling in) and OnA should have waited till they were on sat to play it.

I mean in the sat market that was not the best was to introduce ron and fez.  If you never heard ron and fez before and you live in a red state in the woods polishing a rifle for fun and you hear that clip of Fez, you might not be so inclined to give them a chance.  And i hope i am wrong about that.  And i hope it is that i just have such low respect for people in middle america.  But i have trouble trying to describe how great Ron and Fez are to close minded people on other message boards.  And i defend Ron and Fez to the bitter end in any and every situtation.  Nothing makes me more pissed then when some cocksucker on a OnA board badmouth Ron and Fez (which is rare).  That is the one thing that will make me lose my cool.  Opie and Anthony is something you can listen to once and be like "This is funny! I like dick jokes".  Ron and Fez's comedy is more complex and has usually more depth to it.  Ron and Fez show is more of something that you have to listen to for a bit and then there is a moment where you go "Holy shit I get it.  This is fucking funny!".  For all the trouble OnA currently has with people not clicking with the show right away, i think Ron and Fez might get alot of dummies not giving them the chance they deserve.  And even in the worse case, i know Ron and Fez will undoughtably prevail.

This is why i think OnA played the Fez audio.  They know alot of their listeners in New York and New Jeresy are Ron and Fez fans who miss them (remember ALOT of the fans have no idea where Ron and Fez are. And if they do they really have no feed and no SU to keep them in touch).  And they played the audio for them mainly, knowing old lost fans would get a nostalgic kick out of hearing Fez and Ron again.  I dont think they really cared what the new listeners and skeptics thought about it because Ron and Fez are comming no matter what (of cource is if indeed they do).  But it might just have not been the right time to play that audio.  I do not believe it was ment to be disrespectful at all.

You then hear FEZ bash him for the first few minutes of the segment.  E-Lo is on of the boss' to O&A, and who R&F would have to work for. Its seems as though Fez work with him in FLA, and hated him when he got to NY.

I am brand new to RonFez.net, so if I screw this up, forgive me.I heard the clip of Fez on O & A. I also heard Ron rip someone a new ass. Folks, if this is their show, then I can not wait to have them on XM!  These guys just rock.I'm not sure what was going on with Fez, but the guy sounded like he was truly in pain. If that is indeed the case, then I am sorry for his pain & I hope things improve. If he is willing to be that real on the radio, I can only imagine how damn good he is when things are going well for him.As for Ron - hearing, "if you want the 'Your Mom's Box Show' ," line made me cheer. This guy does not seem to take crap from management. He is going to be great when he has the freedom of XM. Ok...once again time to try and move this back on track, at least a little...Last
night, during the bad promotion outside, Giant Brian joked about
further bad promotions coming up this summer, on Memorial Day and The
4th of July; Ron cracked me up when he told Brian that he would be
surprised if they were still there then. I think there might have been
a couple of references.And then of course Billy showing up on
their doorstep - I suppose there were numerous things that could be
read into what was said during that last hour of the show - lots
of talk of friends working in satellite radio (Sirius got mentioned
twice, I believe) - Ron talking of Billy's excitement of "putting the
band back together" - Billy, during the "mystery guest" set up, said he
wasn't working in satellite radio "yet" - and even "Sex For Sam" got a
bizarre mention, during the talk of the All Access interview. All
in all, another entertaining show - even if the biggest laugh I had of
the night had nothing to do with any of the speculation, but rather the
continuous dunking of Bitz in the kiddie pool of beer, and the rather
disturbing comment he made about beer going down his pants and onto his
"bottom." Aside from Ray Bottoms, what kind of punker says this when
talking about their ass?! Did Mick Jones, Johnny Rotten, Dee Dee
Ramone,
or GG Alin ever say the word "bottom"? Noooo.... Oh, that Bitz...

Actually the MyFi can record talk radio up to 9 hours because of the lower bitrate that's used.  I have a MyFi and have recorded 9 hours straight of O&A.  Unfortunately you cannot set the timer to record that length (the interface just let's you schedule 5 hours total between two sessions).  Manually you could turn on the recorder and just let it go....theoretically recording full shows of O&A and R&F for later playback.

Opie and Anthony & Don and Mike had fans in both markets (one of D&M's biggest behind the scenes fans was a WNEW New Yorker, who stayed with them doing stuff, and I still see an occasional WJFK "WOW" sticker in and around Virginia), and I am confident that both could have found their own audiences if they were left alone, and if they didn't have enormous egos and had convinced themselves and their fans that they were being undermined by "the other show."It's all ancient news - O&A weren't big in the DC area / D&M weren't big in NY. I didn't get to listen to much of the show last night (very funny
first hour, btw!), but there was a very brief speculation nugget at the
start of the first break - they came back playing Foo Fighters "Learn
to Fly" (the one with the lyrics: "looking for a sign of life" that
everyone thinks sounds like "looking for a satellite"), and Ron asked
Fez if he had gotten "the call" yet. When Fez said he hadn't, Ron just
said something like, "Mmmmm." And implied he was the last one, and
wasn't on the same page. Then they moved right along.More bogus fodder for people listening to closely, or is a real announcement from them going to come within days?

my god... these guys are douches. They talk shit on Jim Norton being on
the show while this annoying woman that contributes nothing is
tittering in the background. Real original lineup there.

I think it's VERY interesting WJFK is moving towards this with all the ruckus about R&F leaving still being thrown around...maybe this will be a dealbreaker if they can legally brodacast online?  If they can do that, what's the honest appeal of going to satellite?  R&F deserve a better station than WJFK, but sticking with "regular" radio AND having free online streaming has the potential to get them MUCH bigger numbers and expand their audience than satellite could (at least based on the numbers satellite draws even for its top shows right now).Hmmmmmm...

Can streaming really mean anything for WJFK's ratings?  Those who can hear the station on the radio would just listen there.  NY or FL listeners would likely never be asked to participate in a DC arbitron ratings book.  While I imagine Infinity can get a sense of internet hits to test the popularity of Ron and Fez outside the DC market, I don't see how that would have any real impact on the boys' decision to go the XM (assuming a final decision has yet to be made).

Internet streams aren't rated like the stations are.  But what they potentially COULD do is draw in more listeners who CAN listen on their radio.My point is, if they can get a deal that allows them to be streamed on the internet and effectively heard anywhere in the country, why would they have to go to satellite?Terrestial radio still dances in circles around satellite when it comes to listeners...if you want to be heard by more people and be a bigger radio "star," non-satellite radio is still by far the place for that.  So if R&F can cut a decent contract that includes internet streaming, why go satellite?

I can think of two reasons:

The first is that, in radio you go where the work is. While the boys might rather a terrestrial radio gig, maybe they aren't being offered one that is appealing to them.

There are a finite number of markets with a finite number of openings in each one. Add in format considerations and the constraints of dayparts and salaries, there are surprisingly few places that this show can go. and none of that takes into consideration life-style stuff such as do they want to be in LA or another city.

The second is the business plan and direction of the company that you work for. its no secret that Infinity has mismanaged more than one of its radio properties. If they fuck around with [just for example] WJFK too much, and ultimately it becomes necessary to change the format, then they STILL wont be on terrestrial radio.

Maybe one of the satellite companies [for example XM] showed them a plan that is more in line with the way they think a radio show should be marketed, sold, etcetera.

Also, it is undeniable that there are shows where cross-promotion was mutually beneficial for Ron & Fez and the other parties involved.

If an opportunity to reunite with on or more of those shows, at a company with a sense of purpose, with the right finical compensation. then it might well be see ya, FM'ers.

I just haven't seen anything, despite the hints, that would turn Ron so completely around on satellite.  Sure, it could have just been a bit, but I remember months ago he did a whole rant about how wary he and Fez would be to jump their show to satellite.Yeah, WJFK treats them like crap.  But, to be honest, I haven't listened to a R&F show since I started listening back in 200 where they WEREN'T at a lousy station or being jerked around by management or tossed around the schedule or whatever.  The only possible reason they could head to XM is the backing from O&A....that's it.  As much as I love the show, they have a better chance of getting bigger and bigger over a long period of time on terrestial radio if they get something like what D&M might get with the internet feeds.  Without O&A pushing them on XM, how long will they last there?  What if O&A bail or get the axe?  Won't R&F just be screwed AGAIN?Let me put it this way...if they stay on terrestial at this point and get a feed, they stay their own show.  If they go to satellite right now, their only real option seems to be under the shadow of O&A.  They'd be the "sidekick" show.  I can't imagine they'd really want that.  Plus, with Stern jumping ship to satellite, that opens up TONS of options as to where R&F might end up, time slot-wise, city-wise, station-wise....you name it.I just don't think satellite is a done deal for them or even the best option.<img src="http://scripts.cgispy.com/image.cgi?u=TheMojoPin" border="0" /> 1979 << On the streets of your town... >> "You can tell some lies about the good times we've had, but I've kissed your mother twice...and now I'm working on your dad..."

I don't really see or understand the appeal of streaming an FM show from the stations official site.  What's the benefit?Who would listen?  How would it change the ratings?  Would anyone BESIDES people who already listen on FM actually listen to the stream?In other words...if some radio show on some obscure station in, say, Atlanta GA suddenly started a free stream...how would WE know about it?  Free or not, would anyone outside of that general area know who those DJ's are?Free shows (or subscription shows for that matter) would HAVE to be grouped together on one website and heavily promoted.  People would then have to be able to sample a new show for a decent amount of time just to get into the shows groove and understand it's vibe.<img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v355/tucker71/fezident.jpg" border="0" /> "I'm looking for the 'Make Believe Ballroom'....Don't get fresh, Buddy!"

It actually works best, in my opinion, with shows like R&F.Despite their time on WJFK, because of the time slot shifts over the years they still only have a small core fan base, compared to shows like D&M and Stern's.  If those latter shows moved to new times, a huge amount of fans would still follow them.R&F, on the other hand, are more of a show with a cult following.  The loyal fans with stick with it...but the casual listeners might not follow if it's not convenient...namely, if they move to earlier in the day when people are at work.  If R&F can broadcast over the internet, it's more likely they'll keep those fans, and they'll stick with the show if it moves again, or if the listener can eventually listen to them on the radio again.  It can also draw in listeners who might be coming to or back to the area.Essentially, it's great advertising.

mojo, think you forget how infectious they are.  the boys moved into market #1, and held their own.  they are able to deliver comedy w/o the support of guests, much less a staff. putting them on xm202 would bring back the glory days.the boys have been in the game for a long time and are aware of the bullshit of terrestrial.  ron is begging cameron to let them go.  satalite is far, far better- move diversity in programming, uncensored and finally uninhibited.  b/c it is subscription based.

FYI... Ron brought up the "let us go" thing again tonight. He also reminded us how Cameron isn't a real program director. He was pretty annoyed tonight, but it wasn't really a rant, though.

Obviously, Ron knows all that.  Yet Ron was the one to go out of his way on air to talk about how opposed he was to moving the show to satellite in the past.Maybe things have changed, but I'd hate for them to be forced into something they don't really want out of desperation with station management alone.  All this talk of "no censorship" and such...when have they needed it?  I've never listened to the show and thought, "man, these guys need to be able to cut loose and be filthy!"  Yeah, the commercials are annoying, but honestly, I prefer the "framing" of segments with them.  All the freeform talk shows I've heard thus far off of satellite are mostly rambling and aimless and, quite frankly, dull as fuck.Ron & Fez don't need satellite.  I think, honestly, it might initially hurt the style of the show.  They've got too much of a "classic" sense to them.  They DO, however, need to escape Cameron...though Ron's comments tonight seem to indicate they still have allies ABOVE Cameron, which again seems to hint that satellite is a very likely option, but still not a done deal.I'm just saying, as bad as the terrestial situation is, I don't think satellite will magically fix everything and make it all perfect.  The real triumph would be for them to stick on a "traditional" station and get back into NYC...this has nothing to do with some kind of asinine "DC vs. NY" thing...I just think they fit best there, and a large part of that was die to the fact they were on a terrestial station.  Satellite is just too...big.  It's cold and distant and just, in my opinion, not the kind of place R&F necessarily will do their best.  It's almost like they need stuff falling apart around them to bring the fire out.  Satellite, for all it's claims of being "uninhibited," is too safe for my taste.

mojo's sitting in front of b&w tv, with 3 channels, by golly.  that cable thing is a fad.                   all i'm saying is the boys had tremendous sucess w/ the help of o&a.     as a matter of fact, i never listen to the radio. w/ a 6 cd changer, a 20gb mp3 player, and satalite radio, why bother?  i get to choose what i listen to and not the same 3 zepplin songs on rotation all day, everyday.

Very well stated, Mojo. Whatever happens, though... I just hope I'll get to listen to them live, whether I'm at home or in my car. They don't need XM to be good, but it would be nice if regular radio was the way it was before Janet Jackson. They get dumped on so many things, not because they WILL be fined, but because lawyers are afraid they will be. Some of the conversations they've had with Brian lately, about what gets dumped and what doesn't, prove that they are constantly walking on eggshells. Then their show signs off at 11, and Loveline comes on and says (damn near) whatever the hell they want. It's all just so stupid, stupid, stupid.

there is no such thing as "free radio," as they advertise of jfk.  it's commercial, therefore, it doesn't come out of your pocket, necessarily. and comsidering i'm able to listen to 3 different hiphop stations, metal, idny, and talk, it's a great value.  that's just me.            and my music collect kicks your music collections ass. ::slurp::

i think it's terrific that d&m say had there is no comradary at the station then go on to run down and alienate every show on the station.  way to go faggots; you're old, you're boring, and completely irrelevent to entertainment today.  sound like a good reason to move on mojo, or are ya gonna stick w/ your atari 1600, when the rest of the kids on the block have xbox 360's???         i just can't let up on mojo.

did you all really listen to that clip.  Don wasn't talking about ron and fez giving them handies.  he was talking about the Michael Hughes's of the world.  the only thing remotely disparaging he said was that the other two shows want specific time slots and they don't.  big deal!!  Don's whole point was that the company is dicking everyone around, including Ron and Fez.  And as a result, there is no team atmosphere.  Now that is interesting coming from someone who is admittedly antisocial but he does have a point.

Thank you rgar.  Seriously, I know there's D & M animosity on this board, but believe me, I've been listening to them forever and I know when they're serious.  They are on r & f and the junkie's side here, whatever is best for everybody.Ok, so that out of my system, was anyone else totally confused by last night's show?  It sounded like they might be sticking around afterall??  I was about to buy an XM myfi and now i don't know what the hell is going on.  It's like the boys have given up on all the hints.

I was actually listening to WJFK when D&M got on that segment
(it's during the same rave out about Big O & Dukes), and haven't
heard this edited clip - their entire point was that the station does
not communicate with any of the shows, and as a result there is
distrust among everyone.They pointed out that the Junkies was
mornings when Stern leaves; the pointed out that R&F would like a
better timeslot; and then that made special mention of the fact that
they have been told things to their faces by station managment that
they cnsidered to be just lip service - WJFK was just jerking them off
to keep them happy, esentially implying that THEY know they have been
assured certain things that they don't believe.More than likely,
D&M were told they would get mornings, and more than likely they
believe that maybe the Junks have been told the same thing.
