Did this used to be on Mondays or something?
Becuase I always remember something I used to watch was moved for this show, and I always hated it for that.
I'm thinking it interfered with wrestling when I used to be a fan. Not sure.
Anyway, dogs are cute so I have no problem with the show now, but at the same time, no interest.

Ahh yes, thank you. So back when I was watching DX crotch chop their way to the top, this dog show used to PISS ME THE FUCK OFF. But now, who cares. It's all relative.

Torker, I do love your work. Consistently funny.
Do you ever notice the different personalities while they do their walk around? Some LOVE the attention, others could care less. Then you'll see one who looks nervous, then another who looks like he wants to go chase a cat.

The thing about dog competitions that really irk me is that there really is no scientific criteria used to select a winner. Winners are chosen based on the subjective opinions of the judge or judges. They're really, in essence, beauty pageants for dogs.
I do, however, get a kick out of seeing breeds I've never heard of before.

At least a DOG won. Not a poodle, pekinese, yorkie or some other rodent posing as a dog.

Well, there is a "Breed Standard". A model of what the breed ideally should be, and they match the dog against it. It actually gets VERY specific, down to measurements of height, shoulders, snout, behavior etc. But all the dogs at Westminster are champions in their category, so by the time you get to the end, some of it is how they behave/perform at that minute and some of it is a just a beauty contest.
I do, however, get a kick out of seeing breeds I've never heard of before.
Me too. I go to a Dog Run regularly and I like to think I'm pretty good with Breeds, and yet every year I see one or two I've never seen before.
