Yes this is an old topic, but I am not sure if it has ever been brought up here. I speak of course of the American Film Institute's top 100 films of all time list, and it can be found here :AFI 100 List (http://www.afi.com/tvevents/100years/movies.aspx).
Do some of the films deserve to be placed where they are? Are there any films missing cause keep in mind the list came out in 1999? Since 1999, what films would you add to the list and what ones would you delete?
I myself have seen almost all the films in the Top 20, and I understand why they put Citizen Kane at the top. It is because the film has been an incredible influence on every director today especially the Simpsons where there are a lot of refernces to it. A notable film that is missing is The Shawshank Redemption, a movie that should have of won the academy award.
