I have thought that their have been movie portraits in the last few years of several people and events in American History in the last few years. I thought today that one of the great stories that could be portrayed on film would be about one of America's first heroes, John Paul Jones. He fought in several battles in which he was almost always the underdog including his famous battle when he was in command of the Bon Homme Richard and battled the better armed and armored Serapis. It was during that battle that Jones uttered his famous lines: "I have yet begun to fight!!" It would have plenty of gore, heorism and saddness cause Jones died poor and not in the United States as he became something of an Commodore-for-hire to several nations including Russia. (Due mainly to the US belief they did not need a navy in the 1790's). The question therefore is would this be a good movie to make and who could play the perfect person to play Jones as he was of Scotch decent?
