I haven't seen this film yet. Is it worth a Blind Buy? I think it's going to be $15.99 at Best Buy.
Is the original cut better than the new one?

I liked the flick, however, it seems my friends are split. Some love of, some don't get, hell I really don't even get it but like it.
I haven't seen the director's cut, but from what I read there really isn't that much more added.
If I were you, wait to buy it used on Amazon or ebay.

I've read that the Directors cut adds atleast an extra hour and a half of footage that was cut from the movie in order to bring the time down.
Also, it gives commentary explaining the movie and the whole time-traveling theory.
I'd rent the movie first to see if you like it, if so then i'd pick up the new version. If you think it was just "ok" then stick to the original version without all the mumbo jumbo.

Why the fuck is Kevin Smith on the commentary track?

Maybe Richard Kelly is a fan of Kevin. Plus Kevin is the master of the commentary track that is better than the film itself (Mallrats)
It's only $16 so I'm going to buy it blind.

Kevin and Richard are friends. Kevin was asked to shave his beard and head for an appearance in Richard's next flick. Kev declined to shave it all off, dunno the status of his appearance in the movie.

Kevin and Richard are friends
They must be newer "hollywood" friends. If they were real friends Kevin would have put Richard in his films.

He's never featured John Pierson or Richard Linklater, either, but he's friends with those guys for 10 years now.

But does he let them manage his comic stores?
I'm glad I got the DVD, very cool flick.

Well I just got around to seeing this. Good movie... great music... and yea, it take a little bit of researching to figure out what happened but I thought it was well done. A true original.

For those who didn't like it, check out this website for what happened - especially the timeline at the end of the page.

I never thought I would want to listen some of those 80's tunes again.

I'm sure there are a bunch of fan sites like this. I never went through the official site which added a lot to the original version, but I seemed to get the movie with no problem. There are a bunch of layers/or other meanings that you can get into, but the basic plot isn't hard to get.
