We're doing "Death of a Salesman" at school, but we're not allowed to show death......so at the end, we dance around with sparklers.

RIP Mr. Miller

Wow. I missed this completely. I know this is a horrible thing to say, but I didn't realize he was still alive.

Rest in Peace.

Great, great writer...but yeah, I completely thought he had died at least a decade ago.

It was a sad marriage. He is quoted as saying he spent most of the marriage trying to fix her problems.

He also described her, in his autobiography, as a poet on the street corner while people were tearing at her clothes.

I can't find the direct quote.

I know you're being a guy but you're also being a dick.

She was a sad, tortured woman.

I plead guilty.

But I fail to see the poetry in any of her work.
As a GUY, I suspect that's his dick talking. And if she looked like Rosie O'Donnell, the poetry would be lost.

PS I do LOVE being naughty!!

A classic.

Arthur Miller?
I won't pretend to know or understand your work, but sorry to hear you died.

He published a sad, pretty little story entitled "The Beavers" in this month's Harpers. I knew he was alive from some profile I had read a few months back, or I'd otherwise have thought he was long dead too. I always liked his work.

In college I directed The Crucible. It was, and is, my favorite literary dramatical work to date.
He had an understanding of the human condition and a knack for convincing an audience or reader to become absorbed in the every day.

Rest in Peace, Mr Miller.
