UFC has its newest reality show on spike tv...its called the ultimate fighter....anyone seen this show?

ive seen it, it kinda sucks.

the biggest issue i had was that they wanna be ultimate fighters, yet none of them wanna fight. Plus they almost killed that one guy with the dickhead rubber suits they made him wear. that kills more kids in HS every year then anyone would admit

I missed a bunch of episodes, but the ones I have caught I thoroughly enjoyed. Last week lead up to a fight, and even though it was over within 60 seconds, it's still always cool to me to see someone get choked out for real.

Next week there appears to be in-house violence. I would hope the UFC people will make the punishment for the damage the guys do to the house rather interesting.

Leben v. Koscheck = AWESOME!

The 2/14 episode was just killer. I feel like Leben turned babyface, and Southworth and Koscheck are the new heels. While Leben said and did stupid stuff, he never stooped to the level Southworth did with the "fatherless bastard" line. What an ass! It sucks Southworth is too good for any of the other LH's to kick his ass, but maybe someone like Zwick or Bonner will step up and beat him in the cage.

I'm actually as stoked for the Leben-Koscheck fight next week as I am for most of what's coming up in WWE or TNA. And I can't believe it, but I really want Leben to beat Koscheck to a pulp!

Someone returns to the house! I assume it would be a fighter to replace Nathan, who is too injured to continue. I don't think it would be Chris Leben because Josh Koscheck didn't seem unhappy about the person returning.

This last episode was very good. The fight didn't have the huge knockdowns that you wish for in every UFC match, but it was tons more entertaining than the Chris/Josh fight from last week.

I think the Southworth-Bonner fight should have gone to a 3rd round, but considering what a dick Southworth is, I don't care if he gets screwed. I thought it was strange a veteran like him fighting a guy with a still unhealed cut over his eye, and he's not doing anything to open it up. Any good fighter would be looking to snap a few jabs on that cut.

As for Leben possibly coming back, the one thing about his fight with Koscheck (which I freely admit Leben lost) is he has the built-in excuse of fighting with a really messed up knuckle. Not a great argument in my opinion, but Randy may use that as an excuse to bring his guy back, especially since he's Leben's trainer off the show, too.

But I have a sneaking suspicion it's Southworth they're bringing back. We'll see.

Yep, it was a split decision with Bonner ahead on points, that's why Southworth went ape shit...and apparently continues to do so into next episode.

Last week it was unanimous in favor of Josh. It only goes into the third round if it is a dead even split decision, but I'm not sure how you would ever get that with three judges & a 10 point-must scoring system (unless the ref gives someone a one point penalty?).

It's on afer Raw on Mondays. This week's episode replays Saturday night at 10pm before Velocity & Sunday at 6pm before HEaT...and I assume they do that each week.

As far as the entertainment quality of the show goes it's akin to the Real World, only with athletes who could beat each other to death when little arguments pop up like they always do when you put that many people in a closed space. And every episode ends in a UFC octagon for a fight between two contestant to see who goes home. Personally, I like it more and more each week.

Great show, but the fight is still the best. The last 10 minutes of this show are excellent, waiting for a right hand to tap a chin, or someone to tap out, is excellent.

While Leben had a point about not fighting so soon after just coming back, it still felt like Josh R. was set up to fail. Then again, the guy basically admitted he couldn't beat any of Chuck's guys, so I guess he figured if I'm gonna lose, let me lose to the best guy. It would have looked worse for him if he lost to Kenny, the weak link on Liddell's team (and now I guess the newest member of Couture's team since he's back down to one middleweight). Man, Diego is freaking scary!

I'm guessing Forrest is fighting Alex K. next week, though not 100% sure. If so, chalk up another loss for Randy's team.

the last one was the first episode i saw and i couldn't stop watching. i didn't know the what had happened up to that point, but the concept seemed cool....that guy took an ass kicking in that fight. he did prove he could take a few good punches...if only the other guy hurt his hand or just fell asleep bored from the beating he was handing out he would have crushed him.

That fight last night was great! Even though Forrest was obviously the better fighter, I give that guy Alex major credit for not backing down like Josh R. did last week against Diego. He came out all guns blazing, and shocked Forrest with his intensity. But Forrest was just way too skilled for him. But to me, that was far and away the most exciting fight so far on the show.

It's funny that Leben gets to come back because of the injury to Nate, and now there may be a chance Forrest is let go because of that cut over his eye (it was NASTY looking, at least 20 stitches). If they do the same thing as they did when Nate was dropped, that in all likelihood means Bobby Southworth is coming back. And then the insanity is back!

I've pretty much been a big supporter of Leben, but last night's fight convinced me he's over-rated. I don't take anything away from Kenny Florian, but the guy's a natural 155 or 170 fighter who looked overweight at 185. If Leben's as big a puncher as everyone was saying, shouldn't he be able to knock out a guy he's much bigger and stronger than?

Too bad the finals are going to be a disappointment, what with the Deigo-Josh winner pretty much guaranteed of winning, and Bobby Southworth probably getting into the finals, too. Did you here him whining about "I was back home watching TV again and now I've gotta come back on a 50-50 chance I'll fight"? He should be grateful to get even a .0001% chance to fight since he lost (even if it was a bad decision). What an asshole.

Not necessarily. He didn't get to load up on any of the punches that connected. Just because you have KO power doesn't mean you can always use it.
Leben was punching Kenny a lot, but he still had to be wary of the takedown. He has excellent takedown defense, but he still has to be careful not to get too careless.

Not necessarily. Florian is very skilled in BJJ, so is Diego and Josh is a wrestler, so it's going to end up on the ground. That's where Florian is at his best.

With that said, I think Diego will win because his style is much more aggressive than Florians.

<p>Frank Trigg </p><p>I saw his match at UFC 52 last month against Matt Hughes.&nbsp; I cant even tell you what happens cause when it happens its shocking as hell and i dont wanna spoil it if youre lucky enough to see it even.</p><p>On the the Griffith- Bonner fight.&nbsp; I thought it was slow and boring as hell.&nbsp; The whole time I was thinking each one is less skilled than the other and a good fighter wouldve capitalized on the sloppy moves about 30 seconds into the fight.&nbsp; Those guys are nowhere near the good fighters and makes you appriciate the skill the top names like Liddell, couture, Belfort, Ortiz(before he left) and Silva from Pride have.&nbsp; </p><p>On a side note I believe it was heavywight Tim Silva that had his arm broken from an armbar.&nbsp; He is/was one of the best Heavys in the sport.&nbsp; Most of the time if the armbars really locked in the ref will stop it even without a tap-out.&nbsp; I've seen 2 fights end like that and big John McCarthy has to tell the pissed of loser &quot;i cant let him break your arm&quot;.</p>

is this thread still on??? its been a long time since someone posted on this thread...its obvious. the last post was about UFC 52......wake up guys its now UFC 58!!!!! and unfortunately Matt Hughes is not one of the fighters..the main fighter is Rich Franklin....heard about it guys?
