I am getting a windows pop-up every 20 minutes...
A new version of windows messenger is ready to install. would you like to update?
I am fairly windows saavy, and was able to remove WM previosly.
After I installed SP-2, this message started coming back, and I have yet to be able to disable it.
Any info would be appreciated.

This tool works as well. (http://www.78west.com/eden/storage/msn%20messenger%20removal%20tool.zip)
I use it on almost every PC I own. Also comes with a restore script in case you want it back.

Kim Komando had a piece about this. Find the Windows Messenger file in program files, and change the name of the folder to something like MessengerX. Windows can't find it anymore after that. Search her website, and you should find the instructions on how to do it.
