ah.. i remember that.. although i think it was done moreso to make room for a goldberg/brock match w/no title up for grabs since goldberg would liekly be leaving at the time.

Yeah, Mankind defeated The Rock on Halftime Heat, then Rock defeated Mankind at St. Valentines Day Massacre in 99. Rock defeated Angle in February 2001. Both of these set up Rock/Austin at Mania where the title changed hands again.
Between Survivor Series 98 and St. Valentines Day Massacre 99 the title changed five times with Mankind and Rock.

Rock defeated Mankind at St. Valentines Day Massacre in 99
That was a draw. Rock won it back in a ladder match the next night on Raw.
