Few Questions:
1.Does Anybody go there or school in Newark in general? How is it.
2. Should i go here or the business school in Camden?(i got accepted there too)
3. should i even go?

I went to NJIT right across the street from rutgers newark.
Its not the BEST area, but its really not that bad. You can get right off of 280 and be there. Sometimes the traffic is bad, and i heard the parking is kinda bad over there.
Give it a try. if you do not like it, drop out.

I was never more afraid to be in a car with the windows up and the doors locked then when I went to visit NJIT.
Talked to some of the people I knew who went there and they said when the sun goes down they don't leave their dorms.
I turned down my scholarship there and instead paid to go to Rutgers NB because of those things.
At least it's better then when my dad and friend's dad went there. They tell stories of crazed Mexicans shooting guns at rats and seeing people get axed in the streets.

Your friends must be sheltered, scared little mice, then, because I went to NJIT, and although I didn't dorm, I dated this girl who did, and there were people all over campus at all times of night.
The only time ppl got nervous around there was around 3-ish when Central High School (which is on campus) got out, but that was maybe 3-3:30pm. Otherwise it's very safe on campus, unless something drastically changed in the past 2 years or so that I stopped going to campus. (I also worked there for a couple of years after I graduated)

I used to work in Newark/Essex County and it isn't as bad as people portray it to be. The further away you move away from the city (like towards East Orange and Irvington), the worser it gets. There's more drug traffic in those areas because of less traveled streets and alot of abandoned buildings. That's not to say that Newark is a paradise, but you have to make sure you take safety precautions as you would normally would as other place. Then again, people probably thought we were UCs, so they left us alone.

the times ive been to newark were mostly the stadium and pennstation. and the airport but that doesnt count.
one time i went to newark with someone to get a bag of weed, and i have to say i was rather impressed. The particular gentelman we contacted was actually pretty funny and a pretty chill dude.
in direct contrast no one in paterson ever really says a word to you, aside from this one AI lookin guy i accidentally came across who told me to tell all my friends that that was his new spot and he would be there all the time. i didnt even know i was in paterson, i thought it was fuckin wayne or something

I've been to about every area in Newark and all times of the day, even the places that you wouldn't dare go into. And let me tell you this, some of the places I've been into have been real stink holes, you''ll be surprised of some of the shit I've seen. Crazy the way some people live or choose to live.

This is the truth. There is nothing to really fear. Its kinda scary, but so are most college towns. Don't be an idiot and walk to Orange Fried Chicken on Orange Street at 2:30am and you will be fine. Its actually a very safe campus, we have less crime by a long shot that rutgers NB
I dated and girl who lived there also, and she was not scared. she actually used to walk from Penn Station to NJIT after work. Not saying it was a great idea, but she was fine
