How to get Ron and Fez in Baltimore until Sirius?

I miss these guys terribly. I'm sure 105.7 rating's have fallen so bad they do not what the h*ll to do.

The Out to Lunch guys where great and they rolled out now Ron and Fez are gone! I tried going up and down the dial in some remote help in finding them elsewhere to no avail. I even checked shortwave 1 & 2 as someone suggested! No luck. Please help. With times being as hard as they have been these guys help clear the air with comedy. I love them and will definetly sign up for any satelite service to get them.
Any suggestions outside of moving out of Baltimore for now would be appreciated. Please help!

The Mighty Mighty Bobo posted in another thread on here about how he can pick up WJFK 106.7 in Baltimore on shortwave radio. You can also check back here and grab some clips when Mikeyboy puts them up.

I agree, btw - pulling them off of Live105 was another in a string of really dumb moves in the last couple of weeks Infinity made. They pull R&F, one of their few shows that showed a huge improvement from the previous books?! wtf? Radio einsteins.

I'm assuming its a reference to R&F's ongoing jokes/announcement about "going to satellite radio in xx months," like Stern's been doing.

while i dont claim my suggestion to be a panacea for everyone in balto., if it works for me, it should work for many. i live in an area outside of balto. called catonsville. the specific area where i live is known as the "catonsville highlands" which is perplexing because from what i can tell it is just about the lowest part of catonsville in balto. county. old fashioned radio & tv reception, through the air, is horrible. i started listening to r&f on my shortwave years ago and it works great because of how powerful a shortwave antenna is. i can listen in my family room (lowest room in my house) where my cell phone wont even work and i get the show just fine, occasional static depending on the weather. the shortwave is set to 106.7 fm, not any sw band. if you are having trouble go to radio shack & check out the various sw & fm antennae available to increase reception, some are passive some, some use a power source, some are indoor, some are outdoor, there are so many options, one is bound to work. good luck!

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm going to try different areas all over the house. I do not live far from Catonsville. If this does not work I'm sure I'll find a solution perhaps and Radio Shack. Then I'll post to help anyone else with the same situtation.

I really do not know if Ron and Fez where going to Sirius. I heard them say something about it and didn't think they were joking. They could have been though. Anyway whatever it takes I'm there!

Everything they've said on air so far about going to satellite has been goofing on Howard's talk about moving to Sirius. They have not seriously announced that they are moving to Sirius.

i wonder if it came to satellite radio if O&A would put them on their channel. They have talked previosly about what they can do besides replays.

It would all depend on whether Ron and Fez feel they would rather narrowcast or broadcast (their words, not mine). Based on their on-air discussion last November, (http://www.ronfez.net/displaymedia.cfm/id/2572)after Tom Shales was on, Ron felt it was kind of "sad" that shows have to limit themselves to people who are only already fans, and being on Satellite Radio is already reducing the number of potential listeners and callers down, but to be plopped on a premieum station where ONLY the hardcore fans are - i could only speculate that if they had a choice that they would rather be where the most number of people could hear them would.

The O&A channels, like the Stern channels, should be to break new talent (like The Hideout) - not for a duo that's been on for about 20 years. That's just the way I see it. Hell - I could just as easily see them on AirAmerica or one of the other Lefty talking stations on either service.

I think their future is completely in their hands at this point. WJFK doesn't seem to be in a hurry to get rid of them, just as Infinity doesn't seem to think it's a good idea to let their shows simulcast on satellite, so if they go to either sat network it will more than likely be their call whenever their contract expires.

I'm sure O&A may be part of the equation if they find themselves having to make that decision, but they also have a lot of friends in front of and behind the microphones on both XM and Sirius, so odds are there is more than one party interested in their future.

I miss the show here in Baltimore. I work part-time for Domino's Pizza and on a deliery the other night I was able to get a few seconds of the show in a remote part of Owings Mills. Everywhere else I get cross fade from MIX 106.5 which blows.

Oh well, at least I have the downloads to listen to. MikeyBoy does a wonderful job with those. My wife was starting to get into the show before 105.7 started playing WHFS at night. BTW the station goes by WHFS in the books as of two weeks ago.

Yeah I was down in B-More on Thursday heading into DC and man, you have to be right about to enter the Beltway before the JFK signal comes on. it is so weird cause i was able to get it so clear in Frederick, MD and along some of I-70 but it is like driving through a wall there around the Beltway before they can be heard. it was a great couple of months where I go could straight from Fairfax to right over the PA State Line and hear the boys.

I miss the hell out of OTL as well. I had that new show on Thursday after and MAN is that dreadful.

I back with a little update. I have not been able to get the show in Southwest Baltimore on the radio. As a result I have been downloading them off of here. That crap they are playing on 105.7 is not for me. I have been spoiled with the entertainment of Ron and Fez, Steve the Thrill Hill w/Miles, Tom Lykus and Howard Stern (who is still on 105.7).

Right after Howard goes off so does the radio now. I have been even burning copies of Ron and Fez and playing them at work. There show is so damn funny. These guys are so humorous and the quality of the show is unbelievable.

Maybe part of what I like about them is my own crazy sense of humor but that is what has kept me going through tough times.

I'd be willing to make Paypal donations to help cover the cost of running the Ron and Fez website!

I'm sure that I'm not the only one too!
