Jesus. Here I sit, posting on my laptop from my bed, and there's something bouncing around my fucking lamp.

A LADYBUG?!?!?!?!

Where did this little shit come from? It's BALLS COLD outside. Why did this little shit come out of it's hybernation or whatever they do?

So now I'm stuck with this thing. I don't want to kill it becuase it's not hurting me, but the bouncing off my lampshade is pissing me off. It may have to meet it's maker.

Ya ever smell ladybug balls? They're like mothballs but daintier. Be gentle.

I saw one at my parents' house Christmas Day, and it was really odd.

But remember...it's bad as fuck luck to kill 'em.

When I was in college at UConn, we were swarmed by ladybugs every winter. I think they like to come inside to get warm.

If I'm getting a fuck, it's not the worst luck on the planet, but I get your point.

Then piss on the closest thing resembling a ladybug,

Or maybe he would light his Yankee candle (TM) in another room to have his masturbatory privacy whilst visions of danzig dance through his head.

The spotted ladies are becoming somewhat of a major nuisance to homeowners because of their habit of invading houses and buildings in large numbers in the fall, and appearing again on warm, sunny days in February and March. Despite its annoyance value, H. axyridis preys upon many species of injurious soft-bodied insects such as aphids, scales, and psyllids, and is considered beneficial to growers and agriculturists. we've been in our house for 2 years now, and in the fall the house is literally swarmed by ladybugs. Especially the south side of the house, which is warmest, they buzz all over the place. Evenually, they get in and hang out around the light fixtures. When I ran cable in the basement for internet, I moved some insulation away from the joists at the mudsill and found them congregating there, too. Last year was worse -I had to scoop them up with a shopvac to get them all, and then there would be more 15 minutes later. They smell like a mix of vegtables, but I can't place which. I read something online that mentioned these swarms and found that when they are agitated (attacked or picked up) they bleed from their legs. That's the smell.

i have the same problem at my house. when they first arrive there are hundreds of them along the side of my house. there must be a nest some place in my house, because they are around all year long. during the winter i only see them here or there, but in the spring they are everywhere. i actually have Terminex come and spray. they won't do it for ladybugs specifically, because i think they are protected, but they told us to call back and say its beatles. the number of ladybugs has dropped dramatically, but they are still around.
