So, I am going to book a cruise for the week that my gf is on break from teaching (apr 23rd-30). I have narrowed my search to one in particular. Now I am looking around at where to book it. The cruise is on Carnival so I go to their website. The total comes to $1,342.00 for a 5 night cruise. I decide to look around and find the very same cruise and cabin at icruise.com for $1188.30. Each of these has a different way of presenting the breakdown in pricing.

Carnival goes as follows:

$1038 (cruise) + 158 (insurance) +100 (gratuity) + 46.3 Misc. = $1,342

icruise:

800 (cruise) + 90 (insurance) + 284.30 (taxes/fees) = $1,188.30

Does this look right? Why is there such a difference? Is there something I am missing or does it seem that it would be better to book on icruise.com? Will there be other charges that I am not aware of? Help a brother out!

Take the train! I'm booking 5 months early and because of that I'm getting AMAZING prices. A first class trip on a train WITH a bedroom is like $350 if you book early.

But if it's water that you want, you should def. get hosed.

Depart from the Bayonne Port if you do go by boat. It's more good and I can wave to you as you leave.

I'd like to help but I hate cruising...

For $1342, you get to sleep in an uncomfortable shoebox.
For $1188 they throw you in the meat locker

Cruises suck. Tiny, cramped living quarters. Bored in 2-3 days, and you're trapped on the fucker.
