On Monday, ESPN and EA announced a 15-year integrated marketing agreement that will allow for all of EA's sports franchises to have access to the network's programming and personalities.

The deal will commence in 2006, as ESPN still has one year left in its partnership with Sega.

Big news. Visual Concepts says that it won't hurt the sales of their other games, namely NBA NCAA Basketball, and MLB. Basically ESPN was only a brand and had nothing to do with its gameplay.

EA are a buncha sharks. They've just underminded Sega by getting with the same guys the've been working with. I'm not sure just how this will improve EA's product though, as all over their games are damn well arcadey and can't come close to touching Sega's outright dominance.

imagine playing NFL 2k5 and not being able to watch sportcenter or not being able to hear chris berman doing all his calls like, my favorite martin, or tears of mccown.
