I cant stand this. Im listening to his PC today, and its insane. Brien hasnt kicked well since november, how can you say youd feel comfortable without needing a couple extra yards. ESPECIALLY AFTER YOU SAW WHAT HAPPENED IN SD

look, im sure the guys like herm, and they do play for him, or else he wouldnt be coaching. but goddamn, i never saw a guy so bad at time and in game management, and also a coach so hard headed that he doesnt seem to adjust to what happens.

Maybe if they didnt do the same exact thing all the time, as if it was straight out of a book, they might win a little more.

Damn imagine how pissed id be if i actually liked the jets

I have been saying it for years, I think Herm Edwards is a bad coach. i think he would be a great coordinator, maybe defensive, but i do not think he can run the whole show. he just seems to not have it. I put him in the same basket as Tony Dungy who i also feel is a bad coach. Good recruiter and can build a good team, but can't coach worth a shit

The Funniest part of it is that he justified the move by saying. A coach who has more wins then I can ever dream of (Mart Shottenhiemer) did the same thing last week. Hey Herm, you moron. The man has a 5-11 playoff record. He has also lost 7 in a row. AND HE LOST DOING IT.

when you look at the whole picture you can throw in any NFL Head Coach that has never won a Super Bowl

when it comes down to it if you didn't win the big one then what's the difference if you won 16 games every year or 1 game?

because funk, sometimes the players do lose games. a good coach can do alot, but the players have to do it too. thats why i dont judge post season records and things of that nature until he has coached a number of games there. I wanna say dungy seems like he cant win, but he wasnt the one out there not making plays. the colts didnt get killed, they just didnt make enough plays

the colt offense got physically pounded. almost every pass was contested and when a colt receiver did catch it he paid for it. McGinist(sp?) basically picked up Edgerrin James and slammed him to the ground.

I give them alot of credit for getting up after each hit but they got pounded. When it comes down to it it looks like Manning pusses out, his head goes down or he shakes his head and complains when things don't go his way during a game.

If Manning made a big run and put his head down or gave a shoulder once in a while "kind've like the way Elway did in the Bowl" then i think the team would've rallied around him and played harder and had a better chance of making it a close game at the end.

let hackett leave and then lets start pissin on herm. our defense was shit but herm got us donnie henderson and made sure we drafted vilma, our defense got exponentially better. perhaps the same will happen with our offense. herm is a bad in game coach im not saying otherwise, but as a motivator, i'd follow that man into hell just cuz he inspires me. he is a motivator not an x's and o's kind of guy. he NEEDS to be surrounded by x's and o's kind of guys and then i think he'll be fine.

oh and if you just mean bad coaching in the NFL id like to introduce you to mike martz the worst football coach ever! you have a strong o-line and two good backs and this man will never sit on the run not even for a quarter.

Dennis Green isn't a coach anymore. Now its his job to go around interviewing for all the coaching jobs.

I like Herm. That Brien makes the exact same kick he did 10 minutes before, the one that was 6 inches sort from the 48, and now Herm's a genius. Beat the 15-1 Steelers he had no business beating. But the idiot kicker tried to kick it HARDER from 5 yards CLOSER, and its Herm's fault. Complain all you want about Herm, he does ALOT right. And when he's gone we'll see if someone can do as well as him

If that's the case, I suggest the Cardinals hire him because the season long interview he just had went pretty well.

Not to jump on a Mike Martz bandwagon or anything because I'm really not a fan of his, but to lump him in there makes no sense. He has complied a winning record (51-29), and has taken his team to two Super Bowls in which he won one.

Don't forget, Herm is the first Jets coach to bring them to the playoffs in 3 of the 4 years he's been coaching. Even in their losses they've been competitive excluding the last Pats game.

Come on, they played 3 straight OT games and still took it to the Steelers.

Martz, as poor a coach as he is, is one of the few coaches in the NFL who coaches to win, except of course for the Carolina game last year.

If Martz were coaching the Jets last week w/50 seconds and at least 1 timeout he would have taken a couple shots to the end zone and probably would have moved the ball in closer at the very least.

Most coaches, Schottenheimer is the Dean of this, coach not to lose. Now Kaeding gets blamed for missing the kick as opposed to the coach for calling a risky play.

i dont consider blowing out green bay in order to secure a division title 'backing in' granted they needed vinatieri to kick that fg against miami but if the jets lost that game they wouldnt have been in the playoffs.

They backed into that Div title. They lost to Awful Det and i think to the Bears late that year. the only reason why they won the div is beacuse the pats beat the fish. And the Jets won a tie breaker. just like this year. Backing in. The only year they did not back in with Herm is the year they beat the Raiders with that John Hall 53yd FG.

to back in is to lose the final game of the season and still get in. if the jets didnt beat the pack they wouldnt get in. their backs were against the wall and they delivered by blowing out green bay. they didnt back in. and just cuz they lost to shitty teams doesnt mean the season was a loss. the pats lost to the bills and to the skins last season, two shitty teams did they back in?

Here's some news: According to ESPN 1050, Chad's been playing the past 2 months or so with a torn rotator cuff. So they had an injured QB, played 3 straight OT games, and still made it to the Divisionals where they almost beat the Steelers. Edwards is able to get every last bit of effort out of these guys. And you forget that this is still his first coaching job, he's only going to get better.
