Would have picked Manning if he could win a big game. Going with my boy Tom Brady.

Last time I checked, they're still keeping score. The one who wins the most is the best overall, even if his personal stats dont blow you away.
Brady it is.

I'm sure Manning would trade his NFL TD Pass Record for a SuperbowlT Ring. Manning had his chance to be lifted up to the elite level of Elway & Montana but he choked like a little prison bitch. He has to win the SuperbowlT or he will be just another loser like Dan Marino choking when everything's on the line.
It's too early to tell who the last quarterback standing will be, but I would put money on Brady.

Hands down it's Brady. Vick is just a first string RB who throws a dink and dunker every blue moon.

I picked Manning for the simple fact, that during the actual regular season, he was bar none, the best. Brady is a pretty good QB, but hes not nearly as good as Manning...he just gets the job done...but 2 Superbowl rings dont neccesarily make you a great quaterback...especially not statistically....

How about 2 Super Bowl MVP awards? Does that make you a great quarterback? I think it does and my vote goes to Brady as well.

I thought this was about this year?
Manning hands down was the best. In fact, he may have had the best year EVER by a quarterback.
That being said, I hate him and was glad to see him lose yesterday.

There is no question the answer is Manning. The BEST QB, he wins. He may not be on the best team, best coached team, best defensice team, but he was the best QB. He set all kinds of records, played awesome, and led hsi team to a lot of victories. Other QB's are great, but i feel also had better supporting casts around them, including coaches.
I think the colts coach sucks. he couldn't get it done with the Bucs, and now he is pulling the same shit in Indy

i was first shocked to even see the question asked, but couldn't believe anyone put anything but Manning. yes he lost yesterday, but you put Manning on the Pats and Brady on the Colts and I guarantee you the result is no different. Manning had the best season for a QB EVER!!! 49 TDs. and don't get me started on Vick...80 f'n passing yards. the most overhyped player EVER!!!! yeah he is good, but not near as good as he gets credit for being. i'll now wait for a Snoogans rant about how good Vick is....remember the Culpepper/Vick discussion we had before the year fantasy wise...i think Culpepper blew him away.

Well, lets see...whos the better QUARTERBACK...
A guy who in 2001 passed for over 4100 yards and 26 TDs or a guy who passed for over 2800 yards and 18 TDs...BUT, won the Superbowl...
A guy who in 2002 passed for exactly 4200 yards with a completion pct of 66.3, OR a guy who passed for just over 3700 yards with a completion pct of 62...
A guy who in 2003 passed for over 4200 yards with a completion pct of 67, 29 touchdowns and a 99.0 passer rating...OR...a guy who passed for just over 3600 yards with a completion pct of 60.2, 23 TDs and a passer rating of 85.9...Oh....BUT the 2nd guy won a ring...
And now my favorite comparison...a guy who this season had as great a season at quarterback as anyone has ever had...passing for over 4550 yards with a completion pct of over 67...with 49 touchdown passes while getting picked off just 10 times and a passer rating of 121/1...ORRRR...a guy who passed for over 3600 yards with a compl pct of 60.8....with 28 TDs, 14 Int, and a passer rating of 92.6...BUT...BUT the second guy beat the first guy in the second week of the playoffs thus cancelling out the amazing season the first guy had...
Im not saying Brady isnt a good QB, he is. But Manning is GREAT. One of the best ever, if not THE best ever.

Donavon McNabb is the quarterback Id want on my team before any other QB. Peyton had the best year, but alot of that is cause of his system. if peyton was in philly he wouldnt be that good. I would take mcnabb cause he seems to be able to do more, and win in more systems and with more styles than any other QB.
plus, the fuckin guy avoided a sack for 15 SECONDS and then completed like a 65 yard pass. vick doesnt even wait that long, he woulda ran long before that

that arguement really doesn't make sense to me. yeah, the result is better, but that says more about the team then the player. so if you are comparing WR's your saying that if the Falcons win that Peerless Price had a better season then all other WRs...no, he just happens to be on a better team.

the team had a bad year, but Trent Green had a better year then most of those guys...he is also one of only 7 or 8 QBs of all time to have a passer rating over 90 three years in a row. he puts those numbers up and his RBs score just as often.

Maybe Manning should have thrown 50+ TD's and gotten his team a home game in the playoffs. Being a quarterback is more important than being a WR. Stats are nice but the QB is also the "field general" running the offense. Manning could not advance his team like a true "elite" QB would. HE FAILED!!! There are 4 "Field Generals" left. Who wins the war???

in Rothelsberger case is being a 'field general' handing the ball off to the RB hoping they can score so he doesn't have to throw the ball...they won that game despite his play.

Was it Manning who couldnt take his team to the promised land, or was it the fact that Dwight Freeney is the only guy on the defense worth his jock. You can blame it on Manning all you want, but tell me a team that won a SuperBowl with a crappy defense. Shit i think Dan Marino was pretty fuckin good, but they never had a defense.
I also think Trent Dilfer isnt that good, but they had the best D ive ever seen, and look. Shit defense even made Jim McMahon look good

Leftwich could be really good one day, but i wouldn't compare him to any of these guys yet. he did win a few games late, but only because the defense kept them in the game(their Defense is good). and the one he gets most credit for is the Buffalo game, but i have a feeling if that game was later in the year the Bills would have whooped them...not to mention i think that was the only TD drive he took them on that game. the offense also struggled to score 20 points in most games. he is tough, but at times it cost the team more then it helped with him staying in the game. take Taylor out of the offense and they did nothing. the guy threw for under 3000 yards, which these days is pretty unimpressive and only threw 15 TDs/10 INTs. not great numbers.

OK we are so far off topic here.
THIS YEAR - how can ANY one say anything besides manning? look at those numbers.
the question is not which QB got his team the furthest. There are plenty of other factors to winning a superbowl than just being the best QB in the league. It certainly helps, but it is not the #1 factor. Does anyone remember when the Bucs won? Their QB was not the best, maybe not even top 5.

Look, Ben has won all 14 of his starts this year. and the team has only lost 1 game in which he played at all--week 2 against the Ravens.
Now a lot of QBs could have done similar in this situation, but come on, the Steelers would not have gone 15-1 with Tommy Maddox or Kordell Stewart.

thats not really a great duo of QBs to compare someone to. i think the Steelers would have had a good year though with Maddox. he played against a good team on a roll in week 17(Bills) and they still beat them. and the Steelers had nothing to play for in that game.

They would have done well with Tommy, but it would be a different team. He played well against Buffalo, but he benefitted from inheriting a team with a lot of swagger.
I realize that Kordell and Tommy arent exactly HOFers, but any Steelers fan who had to suffer through the brutality of the Kordell era and the inconsistency of the Maddox era is looking at Ben as a saint.
