<p>Listened a little yesterday or monday til i heard a minute or two of Clarice/Patrice? and then had to turn it off. He cut Anthony off to say something loud, unfunny, and then laughed for a few seconds to realize everyone else was dead silent. </a><br />Wolfpac girls
were under the legal drinking age, (I think one said she was 19), got
absolutely wasted, (Jaegermeister machine) and was having sex under the
influence. That can be construed as non-consensual. (No
matter what, they were feeding booze to a girl that was under 21)<br />
<p> </p><p>That was my take on it, but since O&A were the ones supplying liquor to her, they were on the hook for it.</p><p> They
said "Ralphie Saved the Show" because Ralphie May knew the cops who
came upstairs when problems started and talked them out of making a big
deal of it.</p><p>There might have been other situations involved
too... that is just clearly my speculation on what happened with the
Show That Never Happened. </p><p>The "sex thing" that happened at
XM I think was RELATED to the Show That Never Happened, in that one of
the wolfpac girls was having sex with an intern in a studio off-air,
but I'm not sure if that happened or not.</p><p> </p><p> </p>

<p>Yesterday I turned two friends of mine onto XM and we switched over to O and A, because Ron and Fez were about to come on. I had to say to them "This show (O and A) is a fucking funny show, but like any show that runs all the time they sometimes run out of steam." I was of course making an excuse for O and A for just ranting on about some more midday jocks at FM. And it is sad because I do remember the great days where you couldnt wait to tune into O and A, BUT I do have to agree that when I hear Patrice on. I shut it off. Bill Burr I think is fucking great with the guys as is Jimmy, but Patrice can just be so over the top obnoxious when he is studio. </p><p>In the end my friends found O and A funny, but the fucking loved Ron and Fez. They were talking about them at work today and even carried on the discussions they had yesterday. IE: Flip a coin for $100 mil or death, and the porno theme. My friends are getting XM themselves now due to Ron and Fez, and the music options too of course. It is BS that Ron and Fez only do have three hours. They are just fucking radio gold. </p>

After seeing Patrice on <strong>Webjunk</strong> on VH1, I think his nickname should be <strong>The Steam-Roller. </strong>I like Patrice, but he sucked the funny right out of that show.
7 and a Switchblade
I'm going to roll out some of my recent grievances with the show.
Patrice is now annoying me. I did not even chuckle at the whole "It's raining stuff!" thing. Did not see it as close to funny. Next week will be rough with me.
I don't watch reality shows because they bore me. I don't fucking care how much Opie loves the Flavor Flav show, or the fat show, or Beauty and the Geek. I'm so fucking sick of hearing audio from this shit.
I'm also really fucking sick of this tourette's dude. Opie at the end of today's show torpedoed a great discussion that had me riveted just so he could get to that dumb tourette's dude. I was so fucking pissed I shut the show off.

<p>OK, quick question. I was over on Wackbag, and someone mentioned something about "Lobster Audio" that Stern and Bubba fans are going to send the shows to use against O&A.</p><p>Wackbaggers actually said they can't talk about it, which really surprised me. I thought NOTHNG was off limits over there. Kinda disappointing to hear there's something they can't address. This is exactly my point about the banning at Wackbag. This issue was a big reason the last big O&A board bit the dust. I don't really know all the specifics, but I do remember visiting that old board one day way back and there was a big controversy. I didn't know what happened at the time, later I found out that a well known poster posted something that I assume had to with the Spaz thing, and Anthony, who was a Mod there, banned the poster and deleted every single one of his posts.
So now, if you actually know something about what happened, and you post about it, you are banned immediately and forever and the post is deleted. THAT'S Wackbag.

<p>deep thoughts by Funkman</p><p>i like O&A alot and Jimmy. Everyone know is don't like Patrice. Here is an observation i think 've noticed with the callers that get through. It seems they make a point of letting a good number of callers through that are going to "praise" the guys, the show, and i heard several people call in "praising' Patrice. The guys also go with it pretty good. It's just something i hear very little, much less, if any of it on the RnF show. And if it does happen it's quickly acknowledged and passed over. O&A seem to 'bask' in it and when i say bask all it takes is a few extra seconds of attention...</p><p>For me it just has a little bit of 'stink' on it....</p><p>Edit: when i say i don't like Patrice i mean his comedy, nothing personal</p><p>2nd Edit: Why didn't someone tell me i was using 'loathe' incorrectly, changed it to bask</p><img src="http://i6.photobucket.com/albums/y201/torker1313/490fm.jpg" border="0" /><br />Tork, thanks for the sig!

I guess there's audio of Spaz fucking Anthony's ex-girlfriend. She fucked Spaz to save a Lobster or something like that. I don't know for sure. well some of the things you can' ttlak about revolve around LEGAL
issues, and it could simply be O&A asked them not to let things get
talked about for fear it could get out of control and land O&A into
worse situaitons<br />

They don't talk about Stern THAT much. They do more than I like, and they seem to have to react to EVERYTHING he does, but you are REALLY overstating it.
And Funkman is dead on with his post. I hate how they always have to line up a bunch of self-congratulating call after every good bit. But whatever, it last a minute or two. Not really a big deal IMO.

<p>my opinion on why Opie takes those calls:</p><p>they keep people listening. it convinces people who are listening that the show is good. its like direct word of mouth advertising. if someone calls and says something is funny, you will think it is funny. it is almost subliminal and in your face at the same time. </p><p>just like when R&F make fun of a producer, the listeners jump on it</p>

The audio has been around for awhile - I actually found it on a different fan site last summer (not Howard), when I was looking everywhere for R&F speculation audio. To be 100% honest since I don't know the parties involved, i never listened. Supposedly, according to a friend, the dude's name is a "banned" word on the other site, that's how serious they take it. Just silliness. And as someone else mentioned, why sick the dogs on Stern's daughter if there is something potentially AS embarrassing floating out there? Anyway - I guess we now know Bubba's role on Sirius - Howard's flamethrower/hatchetman.

<p> </p><p>The Spaz/Lobster Girl situation is somewhat
legit. Although it may seem weird that Anthony's intern had
intimate contact with his girlfriend before he did, don't forget -
Anthony admitted on the show yesterday (or the day before) that Brother
Joe fucked his 1st wife before he did.</p><p>The
thing is this: YES, Spaz got a blowjob from Lobster Girl. Was she
Ant's girlfriend at the time? NO. Very important fact there.</p><p>Also
know this: Anthony is apparently very happy with his girlfriend, so
much show that she's been dating him since the "pending
litigation/"Wendy" days, all the way through the firing, hiatus, and
back on the air.</p><p> </p><p>I
dunno. Should we (or the show, or wackbag) for that matter really
care who fucked who? I mean, yeah, Anthony hooked up with a
superfan of the show. Big fucking deal. People fuck other
people. Anthony admitted to having a threesome for christ's sake.</p><p> </p>

Well, SFN made it an issue by sending the audio of it to Bubba, that's what brought this up in the first place. I just think it's fucked up that the whole topic of Spaz is banned from Wackbag and that's a reason why.
However, since O&A brought up the issue of Howard's daughter, they really have no right to be outraged.

seems to be a real non issue:
if you're over 16, chances are your chick/guy is someone else's ex;
and isn't the point of being in radio (or entertainment) to hookup with beautiful female fans ...? and for the stern side to use it as ammo -- didn't fred marry a dial-a-date contestant ...?
would rush get a CNN anchor, or stern get a model if they weren't public personalities ...?

<p>I don't really care that this girl blew Spaz before or after she was Ant's girl. I don't think anyone else does either, except "super fans" of the show.</p><p>I just find it bogus that wackbag makes fun of Stern messageboard for censoring opposing opinions off their messageboard but then covers up a stupid story about Spaz.</p><p>Also, if you have things to hide you shouldn't attack others like they did to Stern. His show is one thing but to attack his daughter makes if much more personal. Now he did that knowing there was something he didn't want to get out. It's out now. I don't care but since he does will this be a big problem? In the end I'll still like the O&A show but I don't want to hear him bitching about Bubba or Stern talking about this audio. He did the same bullshit.</p>

Who is Spaz?
Don't mean to step on Badorties' punchline but Spaz was an intern/punching bag on O&A's WNEW show. He became famous (infamous?) for mispronouncing words during his "newscasts" and generally for appearing to have an IQ stuck in the double digits. Think of him as a prototype for Francine but without the hot/cute vibe and, of course, the vagina.

btw - anyone who knows the story more detailed...also, didn't this person actually call into their XM show last year to try and mend fences and was hung up on the air when they realized it was him, or is that a different show/different employee? There needs to be a flowchart with all the behind the mic drama of all these shows. Anyway, about messageboards banning words phrases, it's actually NOT that big of a deal - few people know it, but there are many words on here that can't be typed, because the mods set it up that way (Scr*tch, M*tch, T*dd, D*n J*hns*n, Ch*ck Fl*yd, P*ssy W*g*n, K*P and D*sm*nd T*t* come to mind, but I'm sure there are many more). Also the default for any sentence with the words "Mikeyboy" and "Lame" makes the browser screen go dark, and a Van Halen MP3 come on. Weird.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/curtoid/babyyearold1.jpg
Yeah, his name is Kevin, and he did. Now, I don't think this one "lobster" instance is why he is dead to the show. I THINK the story about that is after being caught cheating on his girlfriend on air, he abruptly quit the next day and even threatened some sort of litigation. I may be wrong there, but I think that's it. If that's the case, then it's pretty obvious why he's dead to the show. As far as being banned from even a mention at Wackbag, IMO, that's because of the added embarrassment of the lobster incident.

I have both XM and Sirius I got Sirius because I thought O&A were going there. Im happy I still have Sirius and now have Xm. O&A have lost a lot of my respect because they always bash Howard about his censorship but I find out on Wackbag they pull anything about Lobstergirl blowing Spaz and about Anthony's heartattack. If they don't like Howard thats find with me. But if you can dish it out you better take it. They say shit about Howards daughters which is funny but if someone mentions Lobstergirl blowing they get all pissy.

Maybe Norton can get Opie to stop obsessing on Howard for a day or two and actually contribute something other than "top that, Howard."

Did he really have a heart attack or was it an internet rumor? If he didn't have one, he shouldn't have to be fucked with it. If he did, it's his private business. Hell, R&F admitted on the first AFRO Show on XM that there was a medical emergency that happened during a commercial break on their show while at WJFK, and they never mentioned or hinted at it until then. What hosts want to share and not share with listeners are their own business - even if their job is make fun of other celebs and their "secrets." Boiled down, they are all just comedy shows and shouldn't be taken so serious.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/curtoid/babyyearold1.jpg
Opie announced that something had happened to Anthony on OpieandAnthony.com while they were off-air. I don't remember if he said it was a heart attack specifically or if he just said something serious happened. And Anthony has alluded to some sort of health problems during the hiatus when explaining why he has a personal cook. It just seems odd that it would be banned from mention. And hypocritical, with how they bitch at what Stern did to them.

<p>It's funny. After the initial Bubba audio, they stopped playing and fighting back. It was right after we heard rumors that he was going to play Lobster/Spaz audio. </p><p>I wonder what happened? I won't listen to Bubba. Does anyone know if they ran with the audio they got sent? </p>

Oh, there is a delay and they have had to dump out at least once. I remember the first time they had Crazy Bill on the air he was going on about school and he said the name of some teacher on air and they had to dump out. So they can definitely dump out and hang up immediately. I don't know why no one has, maybe they have.

For anyone who doesn't think the two shows aren't intertwined, at least on some level, then check out Artie Lange's DVD "It's The Whisky Talking." There's a "day in the life" documentary which shows the backstage of a show, and who is there hanging with Artie and Rev. Bob Levy, but Club Soda Kenny and Jim Norton. No big surprise they were all on the same bill, but it is very funny, if you read any of the hystrionics posted on messageboards, to see Stern's 3rd mic and O&A's 3rd mic hanging out chatting.<div><br /></div><div><br />I wouldn't be surprised that the hosts really don't like each other - and I personally don't believe it's a Pro Wrestling thing and we're all being had - I do, however, hope that after all this time, when the microphones go off, they have more to concern themselves with than what another radio show is doing - that they are making their money, and confident enough in their shows, that they leave the squabbling the other 20 hours of the day with dopey fans on the internet.</div><div><br /></div><div> <img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v64/curtoid/babyyearold1.jpg" border="0" /></div>

<p>the thing it really boils down to is that have never really competed. At WNEW, they were afternoons and stern mornings. </p><p>Even now, on some level, its not really a competition. There are no ratings, only sub numbers. And regardless of what anyone says, no one has any clue how many people signed up to XM for O&A or Sirius for Stern. </p><p>In the end, it is more of a made up competition on their minds than anything. I do believe howard was a dick to them behind the scenes, I can tell from the way Opie tells those stories that shit is true. I do believe deep down O&A would love to see howard fall on his face. I do not believe that they would ever sacrafice something personal of financial for themselves to make sure that happened. </p><p> </p><p>I am prolly 100% wrong on all this. </p>

You're right, they're not competing. And if they're not competing what's the point. It seems like they're talking out of both sides of their mouths when they say Howard's delusional in thinking he's the reason Sirius has increased subs, yet they treat this rilvary as if they believe the XM/Sirius war (which doesn't actually exist except on the O&A show, the Stern show, and Wackbag) will be decided by who comes out on top between O&A and Howard Stern. </p><p>It bothers me because I like the show, but they seem to be going further and further down this radio war path which is just boring as hell and makes them sound just as delusional as they say Howard is. </p><p>Yet if you ask any of the 'pests' they say that their favorite parts of O&A are when the talk about Howard and goof on other radio shows, so it's going to continue to take up large portions of the show. </p>

I don't think the hosts have too much love loss, but (like I said) I just hope that enough time has passed that they don't spend too much non-show time obsessing about someone else. Listening to Stern again, I get the impression that the only radio host that still gets under his skin is sill Imus, and if that's true that may be because of how he was treated 20+ years ago - so maybe time doesn't heal all, blah blah blah. </p><p>(BTW - all the Stern talk lately, I've gone to Stern Fan Network, and really - I don't see the level of asskissing there that I see on other websites. I think the comparrisons become fair when you find ou the mod has become a friend of the show. And besides, there is an entire forum over there set up simply for the negative stuff - tons of bashing of Howie, the show, bits, etc. Which is in line with his show, which is the only one that I know of that always reads the negative emails and articles, alongside the positive ones). </p><p>And, at the risk of opening up something else, I will say that Don and Mike fans still believe that O&A did to D&M what Stern did to O&A. Yeah, the "ratings" was the official excuse, but if you go back and listen to the Orange Ball of Failure segment of their final WNEW show, Opie does (jokingly?) hint that the reason D&M were shit-canned was because they thought they were eyeing afternoons. </p><p>So, everyone has a beef, I suppose, with someone else. In the end, I really think it just comes down to you can only listen to so much radio in a day. There's no way to be a normal human being and clock in 12 hours of radio shows out of a 16 hour waking day (I say this as someone who has clocked in 12 hours before!) And what happens is these fans become so ridiculously passionate about <strong>their</strong> show, that they convince themselves of all sorts of things. They've hitched their wagons to a show, and they dig in, no matter if a show they are bashing is as good or as bad as their own. </p><p><br /> </p>

You know what's lame? How O&A keep mocking people in the mid-day slot saying it's the crappiest slot in radio. Today, they were talking about how Howard will want to replay his show in the afternoon drive slot, and Bubba will get pushed back into the "worst timeslot in radio" Middays. Saying that Bubba is a sucker who will be in middays. Sound familiar?

I get so angry when they say midday's is the shittiest slot. It's like a slap in the face to ron and fez. The funny thing was ron and fez were getting the 3-7 slot, and then opie said, no they can't because he wanted OnA in afternoon drive as well. At least give them the 7-10 slot, so I can listen when I get home. I am an OnA fan, but OnA are such hippocrates. Ferrall was right when he said that OnA fucked everyone over at WNEW, while they were sitting on a beach getting paid. </p><p>With that being said, I will still listen to OnA because they make me laugh, but the "Pest" mentality makes me sick. They are drones. Ron and Fez rule, and they have much hotter girls at their parties.</p>

Seems like sloppy decision making from a marketing/pr stand-point - they needed to make O&A seem larger not smaller, or at least on the same level - not sure we need the full torso shot. O&A are thinner and definately more marketable than 90% of most radio people. </p><p>Yeah, this is radio, where ugly people seem to be the majority of the talent, but when you get to a certain level you do need to be able to clean up for the marketing, because everyone will want to know what you look like. <p>An article from today's Washington Post. I'm posting the whole thing so you won't be required to register.</p><p> </p><p><strong><font size="5">Opie & Anthony Get the Last Laugh<br /></font></strong></p><p><font size="-1">By Paul Farhi<br />Washington Post Staff Writer<br />Monday, June 26, 2006; C01<br /></font></p><p> </p><p>When last heard on Washington's airwaves, radio personalities Opie & Anthony were presiding over perhaps the most vulgar stunt ever broadcast: a live account of a Northern Virginia couple allegedly having sex in the vestibule of St. Patrick's Cathedral in Manhattan. A tidal wave of outrage followed, and within a week Opie (Greg Hughes) and Anthony (Anthony Cumia) were gone, fired from their nationally syndicated program.</p><p>Today, almost four years later, the duo reaches a milestone in their unusual comeback story. The New York-based jocks return to a regular weekday gig on WJFK-FM (106.7), one of the stations they were yanked from and the 11th to restore them since April.</p><p>In fact, after a two-year exile following St. Patrick's-gate, O&A have reemerged as perhaps the important players at the company that fired them, CBS Radio. All the stations that have put them back on the air, including WJFK, are owned by CBS.</p><p>For this, Hughes, 41, and Cumia, 43, can thank Howard Stern. The company went back to them in desperation after Stern left CBS for satellite radio in January and after his initial replacements -- particularly former Van Halen frontman David Lee Roth in New York -- flopped miserably.</p><p>Which means that Opie & Anthony have gone from pariahs to has-beens to would-be saviors of one of the radio industry's largest companies.</p><p>The normally brash pair aren't gloating about CBS's change of heart. Nor do they sound particularly bitter -- at least now -- about their removal from the air in August 2002.</p><p>"I wish [the company] had hung in there and rode out the controversy," says Hughes by phone from New York. "I mean, [the church stunt] was in bad taste and all that. We get that. But the attention we received would have translated into huge, huge ratings if they had stuck with us."</p><p>Besides, to this day, he maintains the broadcast was defensible: "I know we did an FCC-friendly show. Nothing graphic was ever described. It was very tame on the air. But it was a different time. We put the FCC in a bad position."</p><p>Adds Cumia, "There were times when we thought: Are we ever going to get another chance? Are we going to get blackballed? The radio experts said we were done, that we wouldn't be able to work on a 5,000-watt radio station in Fresno."</p><p>The exile years weren't all bad. CBS Radio was obligated to pay them for the two years remaining on their contract. Since the contract prevented them from working elsewhere, that essentially meant a very long vacation. The two men spent time with their families, visited friends, went to the beach, worked out and kept in near-daily contact with each other. For a time, Hughes says, he "wandered around the country," prompting Cumia to describe him as "like Caine from 'Kung Fu.' "</p><p>Satellite radio played a twin role in their return. Not only did Stern's departure to the Sirius service work in their favor, but Sirius's archrival -- Washington-based <a href="http://financial.washingtonpost.com/custom/wpost/html-qcn.asp?dispnav=business&mwpage=qcn&symb=XMSR&nav=el" target="">XM Satellite Radio</a> -- was the first to hire them back when their CBS contract lapsed in late 2004.</p><p>They've been on XM since then. In an unusual twist, "The Opie & Anthony Show" will continue on XM in the morning even as the program returns to CBS stations. That makes O&A the only personalities heard on both satellite and conventional terrestrial radio simultaneously. Their XM show is simulcast on most of the CBS stations from 6 to 9 a.m. (WJFK will run it, tape-delayed, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.). At 9 a.m., they continue for another tw
<p>Did anyone hear Opie and Anthony address the Ron and Fez situation today? They said R&F were "warming up in the bullpen for bigger and better things. Unfortunately it's taking longer than expected and things have kind of been put on hold."</p><p>Opie said that after they were trashing the midday slot for radio hosts and then realized they had to defend their buddies. </p>

Why? Again, I have no clue. Better yet...I don't even fucking care!
Travis never came to me to ask me to put a stop to the bashing. I found
out 2nd or 3rd hand what was going on. <br />
<br />
When I look over at my paltalk chat and, instead of seeing a good line
for the show or a comment from someone that can be used on air, I see
vicious shit coming from a few people in the room directed at someone I
work very closely with, I'm going to say something. I told the WHOLE
ROOM that the Live Room will go by Wackbag rules as far as badmouthing
other people in the room. If you do it, you get bounced. After a few
bounces, you get banned.<br />
My room, my rules. At that point NOBODY had been bounced or banned by me.<br />
<br />
To this I get a fucking comment from Irish Alkey that I wouldn't get
from a friend. I never said one thing about that fucking guy. I met him
and hung out with him and drank with him and thought he was cool. I
never had any reason to believe otherwise. Then he turns around and
gives me nasty shit in the live room. So the room got shut down. I'm
trying to do a show. I can't be thinking about who's saying what about
who.<br />
<br />
From now on the second I see any jr. high school bullshit in the Live
Room I'm just gonna shut the fucking thing down. No warning no excuses.
I'm going Israeli with this shit. One fucking line of shit bashing
someone without it being a joke and the room is gone for the day. AND I
will go to the Fan Room and if a stream of the show is playing my good
friends at PalTalk will have it stopped.<br />
NOT because I give a fuck if people listen to our show on pal talk or
online through syndication underground or if they get the feed out
their grandmothers ass.<br />
I'll do it so the 245 other people in the room get fuming pissed at the
5 or so assholes fucking it up (YET AGAIN!) for everyone else.<img border="0" src="http://www.wackbag.com/images/smilies/appl.gif" alt="" title="clap" class="inlineimg" /> <br />
I can NEVER believe when I have to get involved in petty bullshit like this.<br />
Pass it on to those that need to know. <br /></p><p> </p> <p> </p><p> </p><p>So apparently, there was just drama going on concerning Travis and his GF (I haven't heard the show yet today, so I'm not sure how much it has to do with anything that happened live on the show today) and then Alkey said something to make Ant go fucking ballistic.</p><p>At least, that's what I'm getting out of it. When Anthony gets angry, his lack of a high school diploma shows in spades.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>My favorite quote from this (bold mine):<br /></p><p> </p><p></p><p><span class="postbody">I'll do it so the 245 other people in the room

<p>Keyser is reporting that Ben Sparks was fired over the Stern fan incident. </p><p> </p><p>It would indicate to me that the fan was right, that Ben initiated contact, if in fact that Ben was fired.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p>Ben Sparks, producer for Opie and Anthony's radio show, was suspended
after the incident where a Stern fan interrupted the walk over to XM
studios. It turns out Ben initiated the contact with the fans and hit
him first, prompting the suspention. There is speculation that he has
now been fired. It is unconfirmed however his name is off oa.com and
its off the 92.3 Free FM page<br /><br />Today's show was a best of, nobody has spoken pubically about it yet.<br /><br />Nobody
ever spoke of his suspension on the show. It was never indicated that
Ben initiated the contact on the show and in the clip you can hear them
grab the fan and berate him for attacking Ben.<br /><br />

They did announce they were taking today off last week, according to Wackbag anyway. This is just more proof that O&A can be just as full of shit as anyone on radio.<br />

<p>I was just listening to an older O&A show from like 3 or 4 weeks ago and they were ripping on ben not doing anything and sucking as a producer. I was thinking they must really want to fire him, but since they are friends with him they never would. I wonder if his getting fired has something to do with pressure from O&A for the management to do it and make them look like hte bad guys. </p><p> </p>
