Limewire seem to have almost no spyware.
Just don't keep it running in the background. When you are done getting your "test" information, get the fuck out! The limewire sevice will keep running unless you turn it off. Check your system tray, right click and exit.

Limewire is by far the best program to use to download free music, porn, music clips, porn, images, and... did I mention porn?

If you're using a Mac, download Acquisition at acquisitionx.com.

If you're using a PC, download eMule at emule-project.net

If you are going to be using those programs don't be a jerk and get Peer Guardian (http://methlabs.org/methlabs.htm) and keep your block lists updated. You'll be suprised at how many people (as in RIAA and MPAA) are trying to constantly connect to your PC when you are on p2p programs.

bearshare.com. The pay version has no spyware. The freeware is bundled with two programs that aren't really malware (imo) and can easily be removed. Good support and a good discussion board to help with any config problems.
