Indy and Rams sure. I just dont see the Vikings beating the Packers in Green Bay with the way they struggled this year. And I think if anyones got a chance for an upset this week, its the Jets over the Bolts.

Tice fucked up. on that play where Minnesota it looked like Minnesota intercepted and then fumbled the ball back to the Packers, Minnesota should have challeneged. The guy clearly intercepted the ball than fumbled. The interception call is challengeable, but the fumble is not. If they challenged and it was upheld, the refs would have had to call the ball dead at the spot where the Minnesota player fumbled and they would have kept the ball, since the whistle blew. Complicated, fucked up, but true, as far as I know.
EDIT: This game is a fucking joke.

Moss took his ass and rubbed it all over the Packers goal post. Joe Buck made it sound like he actually took his pants down, but he didn't. He's overreacting; it wasn't that bad, I thought it was funny. Buck had no problem with Fox showing a montage of signs mocking Moss a couple plays beforehand.

Thanks for the recap - I turned away for a brief, brief second. They just reshowed it - oh, and now they are talking to Moss. Much ado about nothing. Yeah, the guy is a prick - he makes great plays but isn't a great player - he has no class - blah, blah, blah - but these guys can't stop talking about him.
Wish I had his hair.
Loved the games this weekend - not wild about most of the results.

Brett Farve suffers from what many in the medical community refer to as "Brett Farve Syndrome".
When Brett gets behind early in a game, or when hes playing in a high-stakes game, he tends to try and will his team to win by staring down recievers, trying to jam a ball into triple coverage or by firing a 95 mph laser beam to a wide open reciever who is 10 feet away.
This is why, as good as he is, he has never led a team back from a defecit of more than 14 points.

Im not sure if this has even been discussed on the board, but what Moss did with the whole mooning of the fans, was pretty fucked up. The 5 thousand dollar fine wasnt near anough what the NFL should have charged him. But w/e, this is pretty funny that the Vikings would want Fox to remove their top announcer from the broadcast, especially since just about everyone is down on Moss nowadays after the shit he's pulled in the last few weeks.

A 7 and 1/2 hour epic overtime football game would be awesome!!!
In the SuperbowlT, don't they keep doing overtime until someone scores? So in theory, a triple overtime SuperbowlT would indeed be a defensive struggle for the three overtime periods!!!

Brains-wise, next week's coach matchup is a lion vs a housecat. And the Eagles couldn't beat ANY of the top 3 AFC teams. You're on your way.

I couldn't have said this better myself....
"I'm trying to think of what excuses they're saying in their locker room right now," Tedy Bruschi (two fumble recoveries) said afterward. "What rules do they want to change now? Maybe it'll be, 'We can't play a game if it snows.' I don't know. I was just tired of it. I was tired of hearing this and that, talking about the last game and how we didn't win the game, they lost the game by giving the ball away. Last time I checked, turnovers are when defenses take it away. And we just took it away again today. To hold that offense to three points, I mean, their players are great. I respect what Peyton Manning did this year. I respect those players. Sometimes you've just got to be quiet and play football."

I think the Steelers match up very very well with the Pats. Both have big, physical defenses, power running games and smart, efficient QBs.
Whoever is able to get the earlier lead is the team that will win. The Pats like to throw lots of wierd looks, but usually not until they've gotten the lead.
The Steelers do a lot of zone blitzes, but they really start going after QBs once they jump out ahead.
The last meeting in terms of predicting power needs to get thrown out. The Pats had lost Poole only a week or so earlier and Ty Law went down in that game. Since then, their secondary has really played well and it really doesnt look like they're playing two rookie FAs, a reciever and a bunch of backup Safeties.
The bigger difference, of course, is Corey Dillon. He didn't play on Halloween and it really hurt the Pats; I think they only ran the ball 6 times.
This is going to be an awesome awesome game and I can't wait until Sunday.

It seems that everyone who has a voice is trying to equate what the Pats did to Indy into what their going to do to Pittsburgh.
"Well Manning is the MVP and he looked like a rookie, so how will they make Ben Roethlisbereger look?" seems to be the sentiment.
Thats false logic. Manning lacks the ability to win the close game. Some of this falls on Peyton and some of it falls on the defense; they just can't hold anyone to under 20 points.
That means that if Peyton can't effectively move the ball, or if he isn't on the field for 15+ offensive drives, he doesn't have a chance.
The Steelers, however are built to win close games. They run the ball well with up to 4 different backs, they throw well off the play action. Not to mention their defense. They've only allowed 26 TDs all season.
One problem though is that the Steelers let teams hang around a little too long lately, and you just dont do that to good teams.
These two teams match up much much better than the PAnts and Colts and it will be a much closer game than most people realize.

I can't beleive what I'm hearing on the radio. Steve Serby of the post just said he thinks the Pats are going to shut out the Steelers. Joe Benigno said he thinks they may get a field goal. I understand that Roethlisberger is a rookie but when did the Pats defense turn into the '85 Bears? The Steelers offense is a lot more physical the the Colts. And I wouldn't be suprised to see the Steelers D make a big play to score or set up a touchdown. I said before that I can see the Steelers losing a close game but can the Steelers get a little respect?

Michael Vick is an amazing ATHLETE. No question there but an amazing quarterback would mean that he can throw the ball right? Oh, I guess 82 yards passing qualifies as great.
I like Mike but I just don't see the whole package as far as what I see in a QB. Best scrambler I have seen though since Randall. Let Vick learn how to throw a bit more and have some accuracy and he WILL be "The Ultimate Weapon".

Vicks passing hasn't been good. he completes about 57% of his passes...not great. but his best receiver is his tight end. maybe he will do more with some better WRs. he also threw for only 2300 yards...Volek threw for more and he started 1/2 the games this year...he also threw 4 more TDs.

You can't Judge Eli when he was on a team with an awful Oline a under acheiving Awfuly used TE two WR that could not catch a fing cold. when he had a wr who could actualy outrun some one in Taylor he deliverd 2 perfect bombs to him. So it is way to soon to judge ELI.

I threw in the 82 yards cause it was the last game and it was fresh in my mind. Yeah, he can run and scramble and do some amazing athletic things with his legs. I will not discredit him at all for that. But those qualifications also fall into the category of running back. Sure, his Tight End's and Wide Receivers don't set the world on fire and they do drop balls. I still have not seen him throw and pass the way a Quarterback should. I know he has got to grow and sure enough will.

last week, when they made peyton look like Eli.
Look, your forcing me to use caps, because I have heard this too many times. Here goes.
PEYTON DOES NOT PLAY WELL UNDER PRESSURE. MAKE HIM SCRAMBLE A LITTLE AND HIS ACCURACY AND DECISION MAKING PLUMMETS.
NOT ONLY CAN ROETHLISBERGER THROW ON THE RUN, HE EXCELS AT IT.
PLUS ALL THIS "THEY MADE THE MVP LOOK LIKE A ROOKIE..." TALK IS BULLSHIT. PEYTON WON THE MVP BY RUNNING THE SCORE UP ON CRAPPY TEAMS. 45 POINTS AGAINST THE PACKERS? (TRUST ME, THEIR DEFENSE BLOWS). 35 AGAINST OAKLAND? 49 AGAINST HOUSTON? 41 AGAINST CHICAGO AND DETROIT? 51 AGAINST TENNESSEE? PLEASE THAT DOES NOT IMPRESS ME. PUT 35 UP ON PITTSBURGH OR NEW ENGLAND, OR EVEN JACKSONVILLE.
I like Mike but I just don't see the whole package as far as what I see in a QB. Best scrambler I have seen though since Randall. Let Vick learn how to throw a bit more and have some accuracy and he WILL be "The Ultimate Weapon".
Great scramblers rarely if ever develop into great QBs and heres why.
When a pass-first qb is in trouble, hes either going to stand and deliver knowing that a hit is comeing, or he is going to move around a little to b uy some more time.
When a scrambler is in trouble, hes going to take off. Now when your in high school or college, thats not a problem, but in the NFL, you cant just take off every time things break down. Defenses will kill you.
These scrambling QBs come to the NFL with run-first instincs and so so many of them just can't develop the skills they need to succeed in the NFL. Kordell Stewart is the best example, he was an absolutely awesome athlete, but he didnt have the ability to throw under pressure.

Amen!
The one thing that Peyton has done except for "Cut that Meat!" has been when he helped bring the Colts back from what, down 21 in the last 2 minutes against Tampa last year. That was insane to watch.

I was waiting for the Kordell comparisons and you're right. He doesn't know how to stay in the pocket and let his O-Line do a little bit of work. When the play breaks down he doesn't try and make a slide or head out of bounds. He runs. He will surely get killed if he continues to do that. I bet my hands that in 5 years he will be done or backing up just like Kordell the Great is now.

You Guys have to give Payton some slack. It took MJ a while. to get over the hump. He had to get by Det. People said he couldnt beat them. It took Elway untill his final 2 years to do it. Payton just has come across one of the greatest football minds in NFL History. Who elso has beaten the Pats in the playoffs in the past 3 years? NOBODY!!!. Bellichek is like 8-0. You guys feed us with this Tom Brady bullshit. He is like Derek Jeter. If nomar or arod was on the Yankees. They would have 4 rings. Has Jeter and Brady been fantastic Clutch performers? without any shadow of a doubt. But did Payton ever have the D that Brady has had? and the brilliant Minds of Bellichek and Weiss and Cronell? No. Did Arod and Nomar Ever have The supporting cast and sp that Jeter has? NO.What has Jeter done in the last 4 years wih a flawed Yankee Team? Im a yankee fan and i Love Jeter. But you have to be honest. Same thing happend with the most overrated Player in sports History. Scottie Pippen. He rode micheal Jorden like no one has ever ridden any one. He was a good player. But NEVER TOP 50. If Barkly Or Ewing Had MJ they would have won 6 rings. Payton is just getting into his prime. There is no shame in losing to Bill Belichek and the NE Pats. And BTW you have to start thinking about this. Was it really Bill Parcells that was really responsible for the Giant Pats and Jets success? Or was it Bellichek all along. Bellichek has done it without Parcells. Parcells Has not yet without Bellichek. If Parcells does not do anything with the Cowboys Next year. You really have to start wondering that.

Has...Brady been fantastic Clutch performer?
Hell yeah. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a Pats fan at all, but you have to respect what he's done. He drove his team down the field for winning FGs in both Super Bowls he played. If thats not clutch, please define exactly what clutch is.
Also, Pippen didn't ride MJ. MJ was the alpha male of that team. Every shoot-first guard/forward that is playing now is trying to do what MJ did.
MJ, and this is what sets him apart from Iverson and T-Mac and the like, was able to take all his teammates and bring out their bets qualities.
Rodman, Kukoc, Pippen, Horry, and everyone else played the best basketball of their careers. And with the exception of Horry never played as well after MJ.
Horry of course is the quintessential backup guy, winning titles in LA and San Antonio.
the reason Pippen was never as good, is because he necer got to play with anybody close to MJ.

All i know dude is when MJ retired. Pippen had his shot at his own team. The same tem MJ won with. And what did he do? He whined like a little bitch when Jackson trusted Kukoc more then he did pippen. He refused to even go in the game. If Kokoc does not make that shot. Bulls go down in at most 5 games. Mj always let others take final shots like a Paxton and later on Kerr. Trust me. As a Knick Fan I hate MJ. Hate his guts. But you got to respect the man. And if you read my post correctly I gave Brady all the credit in the world for being clutch. But he isn't the main reason why the pats are the pats. He like jeter gets Wayyy to much credit for their team's success. The were both Huge parts. But not as big as they get credit for.

A weather guy was on the fan and said game time in philly it might be like -10 with 20-30mph wind. I think that helps the Falcons. Vick does not really throw anyway. The have 3 stud Runners in Dunn Duckett and Vick. Plus if they want to dink and dunk they have a stud TE in Crumpler.

can you know anything less about football?
Everyone who watches falcons games wants to lay them all on vick always. Vick isnt always why they lose, and he isnt always why they win.
for one, how about someone on the D lay a hand on bryant westbrook. number 2, a block or blitz pick up on offense would help vick alot more. remember, he can dance around for 8 seconds, if he didnt leave the pocket, HE HAS TO TAKE THE SACK
and maybe the main point in this game, i havent seen philly cover recievers like this. the secondary for philadelphia has played amazing and so has donavon mcnabb. now maybe people will watch and realize why i would take him over peyton manning if i was starting a team.
and no matter who is QB, i feel bad for them tryin to throw into a 30 MPH wind.
has vick played good in this game, no not really, but give the guy a little credit, if he couldnt run around like he is, he would be having even a worse day. this is just an ugly game.

VICK IS 23 YEARS OLD
he played one full season before he got hurt last year. he is still learning to be a QB. Eli didnt look half that good this year, and dont say well the O line, cause no one is blocking for vick right now either.
also, he is in a system that he just started THIS YEAR. on top of that, its the wrong offensive system for a QB like vick, especially without a WR who can break a play.
and btw god'sfavoriteman, never win a big game. so its not big when you become the FIRST EVER qb to win a road playoff game in lambaugh field. YOU ARE RETARDED

again, sometimes, but sometimes, if you are still in the pocket, YOU CANT.
its called intentional grounding, its a spot foul and a loss of down, THE SAME AS A SACK.
if he gets chased backwards, but stays in basically the middle of the field, he cant throw it away. also, yes it makes sense along the sideline to throw it away, but if you are down 10 in the 4th quarter of a playoff game, throwing a ball away sometimes is bad. maybe you make a play, maybe you dont, but wasting a down when you cant doesnt do any good either

Snoogs, you know I got mad love for ya, but you really gotta get off Vick's cock. Yes, he can run. He can even run really fast. Good for him. That does NOT make him a good QB or a person that's able to lead a team to a Super Bowl victory. Michael Vick's style of play will never enable him to win the big game, especially against a team like the Eagles in the NFC.

i am so sick of sayin shit over, so this time, im done with this.
i never said he was a great QB, i never said he was a great anything. all i said was, TOO MANY PEOPLE put ALL the blame on him. their are 48 other guys minimum on that team. if he drops back to pass, and has to run away in half a second, is that cause he is bad, or cause somebody didnt block someone.
i already said mcnabb is better, the best. i dont even rank vick in the top 5 of QB's. but at the same time, if someone here is gonna yell that vick is bad cause he didnt throw a ball away and took a sack instead of INTENTIONAL grounding, that guy is an idiot. in fact, i already said
has vick played good in this game, no not really
HE HASNT PLAYED GOOD TODAY. BUT HE HASNT LOST THIS GAME.
no one has gotten open, no one has blocked, the TEAM got outplayed. the eagles won the game, they played great defense, and atlanta didnt play great defense.
and by the way, maybe this game is different when philly has to punt when its 14-10 except defense holding gave them a first down.
you guys gotta learn to read, no one is on vick's johnson, all i was sayin is IT ISNT ALL HIM
thats like sayin if the mets dont win the division next year, its all beltran's fault
thats retarded, vick didnt play great last week, and they won by 30, what happened then?

oh no. michael vick's style of play has nothing to do with it. its tryin to take a guy like vick, and make him run the team like joe montana. he cant do that, he isnt that good a QB.
HE IS ALSO A KID. he doesnt know how to be a qb yet, and thats fine, he isnt good right now. but for you guys to sit and say never never never about a guy who has played 2 full seasons and neither one was under the same system, you just dont know football. take any qb, shit take peyton manning, and put him into the jets offense, and he would look stupid until he got comfortable.

Not against New England. They are murder in those fourth and short situations. Pit went for it earlier on a 4th and 1 and were stuffed.

you gotta think bigger than that HBox.
take 3 points, and give it to NE at around the 30(assuming the normal spot on kick returns), i think they actually started better than that.
or try for 7, maybe get 7 and give them the ball same spot. or get 0, but give them the ball at the 2, giving you a chance for 2 points, you know they are gonna run, and your front 7 is damn good. 3rd quarter i kick, 4th quarter, down 14, the way NE has moved the ball, i try for 7 or make them start at the 2

Even assuming you get a safety, and that is a HUGE if, 2 points does absolutely nothing. Taking the field goal made it 31-20. A field goal and a touchdown with two point conversion ties it. What does 31-19 do for you? You still need two touchdowns. Getting a field goal is so much easier than a touchdown. And there was so much time left. It was the very beginning of the fourth.
Bottom line is that Pit's defense stunk today.

you havent stopped them all day, the bigger factor for me was field position. they lit up your D like no one else has, and you take 3, still a 2 score game, and give them good field position. at 31-17 its a 2 score game, ill be it slightly tougher scores, but they get it at the 2.
if you can manage to hold them and score a touchdown and a field goal the way the game had been goin, you shouldnt have much more of a problem just gettin 2 TDs. especially knowing that if you take the FG, they are prob gonna get one too, rather than playin conservative cause they have no space

They havent stopped NE all day, so basically your saying ok give us our 3 it doesnt sweat you and youll take your usual 7 and we are still playing catch up. At least with going for the TD you might get it. Throw a HIGHER LOB to Plex on the Fade this time. If you dont get it, NE gets worse field position at least then with a kickoff. Cause Bethel Johnson wont burn your ass on the return.

Blow what??? The game was already lost. They hadnt stopped NE offense all night long. they had nothing to lose already down 31-17. The 3 points did nothing just made it 31-20. It didnt make NE worry at all. You have a receiver who is 6'5 and can jump high and DBs who are tired and small and injured. How about throwing a LOB HIGHER this time instead of low. The game was already lost they had nothing to lose by going for it.

they stopped NE on several of their drives throughout the game.... they had a TD on a turnover so it could as easily been 24 to 14 at that point in the game

ill try one more time to make it easier. a TD there MAKES it a 1 score game.
a FG makes it still a 2 score game.
if im a coach, goin for it isnt giving up, its having the confidence in my offense to make a play and get 2 yards, meanwhile taking the least risk cause you still need 2 scores, and now they have to go 98 yards to change it. its reverse of giving up the game, its tryin to TAKE IT BACK

no funk, i get what your sayin, but thats not right, there are other factors that go into coaching decisions. making a field goal ensures you are 2 scores down and kicking the ball to one of the better kick returners in the league.
not getting a touchdown ensures you are 2 SCORES DOWN and they are guarenteed to have the ball inside their own 5. with this second one, comes the possibility of making the TD, and being 1 score down.
ITS A NO BRAINER

Needing a touchdown and a field goal is so much easier than needing two tocuhdowns. No, I would not trust my rookie QB who was crapping the field today with the ball on a fourth down. I would trust my my number 1 ranked defense in the league who was doing a good job in the second half to force a punt.
Let me give a scenario: Lets say the Steelers on a drive later in the quarter face a 4th an 10 on the Pats 20. If they had gone for it and came short on that fourth and goal there is no choice here, they have to go for it. If they took the field goal, they can kick another one here and it's a one score game, 31-23. What would you want to do on that 4th and 10?

you coach then, its the playoffs, and any 2 scores, no matter what type, is easier than 3. thats common sense. 2 tds is 2 drives, 1 td and 2 fg's is still your qb, who is crapping you said, having to make 3 good drives instead of 2

if its 31-17, you need 2 scores minimum to tie.
if its 31-20, you need 2 scores minimum to tie.
so 31-17 to 31-20 is one score, and you need 2 more, totalling 3.
31-17 becoming 31-24 means you need 1 more score, totalling 2

No, it's a choice between trusting your defense or your QB. Can you honestly say you'd trust Big Ben over the Pit D? NO!
You are also really underestimating the Pat D in those situations? How many times have they stuffed the Colts over the years in those situations? How many times did they stuff Bettis up the middle today? These are the situations in which the Pats thrive. And what if they come up short. Even disregarding the bad situation the Steelers would be in, that would totally destroy any momentum they had.
Besides, Phill Simms agreed with me. Argument over.

look, simply put, you said ben sucks, so its gonna be hard for him to get it back down that far 2 more times. if you take a chance and get the 2 yards, you only have to get the ball down the field one more time. kicking the field goal means a bad performing offense has to now move the ball back up field 2 more times.
you are sayin dont trust ben. im tryin the best way to make it least have to be on ben. you are forcing ben to have to do it 2 more times. im taking the chance at one, leaving only 2 more times if we dont get it anyway.

yea a TD is much harder than a FG. but if you are having trouble stopping them, AND having trouble moving the ball what the fuck. if you do stop them, you are still struggling to move the ball. id take the chance that if 1 drive gets goin, they can get a TD on that momentum, rather that tryin to have to get it goin 2 more times, and just not having to go as far. once drives get goin, they usually go, its the getting started part thats the hardest. its about flow.
plus, you kick the FG, you still have to go all the way and score. if you do get the TD, you do what you have to do anyway. its just a matter of style. i play to win, you play not to lose the game. i think we are seeing in this playoff which side usually wins the game cough jets cough san diego cough

This is the greatest day of my life as the Eagles are going to the Super Bowl. As I sit there in tears,* I still cannot believe it. I was happy when my adopted Red Sox won the World Series but to have a hometown team do something as wonderful as this is amazing. Granted it is not the Super Bowl, it was just the NFC Championship but affter the last 3 years of suffering, anger and pain after the NFC Championship and to have it replaced with the vision on Donovan almost choking up and Brian Dawkins just lifting the city up on his shoulders is just great. Just great.
The Super Bowl will be a test to say the least as I have not seen a football team like the Patriots (Congrats again Fallon) since the 49ers Dynasty of the past but damn will it be sweet to just be there and to see Eagle green painted in the end zone.
Damn, Wing Bowl is going to be INSANE this year.

Bet you didn't see that one coming.
No I did not. I had you at a 3,000 - 1 odds.
And, yes, this is not the time to gloat at all about anything as I know that the Patriots are just an unstoppable machine. In fact, I think they will win. If it is a close game, I will not be upset about the Eagles losing but if it is a blowout, that will truly be our measuring stick as we may be the Monster of the NFC but look at the NFC. If it is a close game however, withing maybe 3 - 7 points, and we can give the Pats the kind of game the Panthers did last year to at least make you guys a bit nervous, the season will not be a wash for me.
This is still such an awesome feeling. I just wish so badly, I had someone in my family to share this with. To have a Dad or a grandfather that gave a damn about football, which has such a family tradition in this town, would be amazing. Oh well, at least I've got friends who bleed the green.
It's a golden era in Boston sports and I fucking love it.
I am so happy for you and all of New England's sports fans cause you guys deserve it so much. Enjoy it while it lasts and hold on to every memory so you can pass it down to the next generation just how great it was. I would sooner have one great golden era every 25 years and learn how to suffer and feel pain as a fan than to have it every other year or so and become complacent and just expect the silver spoon to stay in my mouth. These two working class towns represented in the Super Bowl have such a bond it is poetic in a sense.

Hey Fallon, I figured instead of asking via PM, I would just open it up here. What is the feeling in the greater Boston area about the Pats going to their 3rd Super Bowl in 4 years. Is the city really ablaze with a fever pitch or from what I heard down here, some of the Super bowl talk was pushed aside due to the Mientkiewicz trade and the fact that baseball rules Boston?
We are on so much fire down here in Philly cause we are quite the football town and it is just beyond crazy. Unfortunately the whole TO saga is a bit of a distraction. There is so much talk up here from so many fans who are going to Jacksonville (aka Phillyville as named by Ike Reese) we are just seemingly going to take over the town like we did in Miami last year for the Monday Night game. Hell, me and some friends are thinkng about just going down and being in the city and watching the game at some bars down there. Just to be there. Then again, we want to be here within reach of the first train into the city should the Eagles win. As far as we know now, our Sportstalk station, WIP is heading a caravan of some 600 fans down I-95 starting next Wednesday en route to J-Ville.
There is also such a respect (at least from what I have heard) for the Patriots and what they have done and how great of a team the are. We are not scared or anything and being the usual doom and gloomers but VERY confident the Super Bowl will truly be one for the ages. Most of the picks from fans so far is the game will be tight and decided on a field goal within the last 5 minutes of the game. I have truly never been involved in anything like this before as a sports fan and it is such a great feeling.

Well, nobody really cares about Mientkiewicz right now. We're pissed that Philly is saying they are cursed, they don't even have a reason to base that on (Babe). Most think TO is just a bluff and won't play. Nobody is concerned with the Eagles and expect the Pats to win. Belichick and Brady are gods.

The one thing I love about being a Pats fan is the whole team keeps their mouth's shut and does all their talking on the field. Let Philly talk all they want about how it's their year, how they're underappreciated or cursed, and let the T.O. speculation run wild. I don't care if he plays in the Super Bowl or not. On Super Bowl Sunday we will all see who the better team is.

I loved Tom Brady's Solid Snake look in the game Sunday. I'm surprised he didn't sneak up behind one of the Steelers backs, slit his throat and then break into a 30 minute solilquy on what it means to love on the battlefield.

The only curse talk if any that has been going on is how there is some BS curse about how buildings were built higher than William Penn atop City Hall. I guess there has been a little talk about how there is the "feeling" like we are cursed like the Sox were but comparing 44 years to 86 years is a bit ridiculous.
If anything the confidence level is really high and the Eagles just really believe that they CAN win but it is going to be one hell of a struggle. The only shit that has been spoken about any other team was yesterday when Freddie Mitchell responded to the Carolina Panthers Steve Smith who really tore him apart on Sporting News Radio. I figure no one heard it cause their audience is about 10 people.

As much as I hate seeing anything good happen to a team from Boston, this fact does make them almost endearing. I still can't root for them, but since I can't root for Philly either, my enjoyment of the Super Bowl will be based on whether the game is entertaining overall and how much I bet on the coin toss & other ridiculous bets that are only available at Super Bowl time.

Here's a sample from Ike Reese of the Eagles:
When we played the Patriots last year [Eagles running back] Brian Westbrook fumbled a punt, and we were all down there scrambling for it. [Patriots linebacker] Mike Vrabel had my testicles in his hand, and he was squeezing them. Where the football ends up depends on who has the strongest will or the strongest hands. Guys reach inside the face mask to gouge your eyes. But the biggest thing is the grabbing of the testicles. It is crazy.
