Industry vet Rick Martini has returned to WNEW/New York where he will serve as Program Director of Mix 102.7. The move was announced today by station VP/GM Maire Mason and is effective immediately.
"Rick is an experienced broadcaster and a veteran of the New York market," said Mason. "He has a passion for the format and his leadership qualities are exemplary. We are very fortunate to have Rick on the Mix team."
Martini replaces Frankie Blue, who departs after a messy late-December scene in which Blue reportedly had a disagreement with night host Yvonne Velasquez and went on the air for thirty minutes by himself, slurring his speech, using inappropriate language and referring to the station at least once as "WKTU".
