Any Joe fans here? His TV show is long gone, but he still has his radio show.
I will never forget seeing the Ramones on his show, along with a guy who did bird calls and some 90 year old tap dancing woman on the same panel!

Wow, that's a blast from the past! Joe Franklin was kinda like a semi-serious Uncle Floyd. He rocked!

Thanks again, WWFallon. You are an American hero.

Dude I used to love that show as a kid.
He had that painting guy, Morris Katz, that would do paintings with toilet paper.
He used to bang them out in like 3 minutes.
It was awesome. Like a poor man's Bob Ross.

I remember he would show clips from silent movies at the end of the show.

Back in the mid 80's, my friend's band (Reagan Youth) tried to get on his show. When they called up, Joe Franklin actually answered the phone. They never made it on the show. Turns out that Joe didn't get the sarcasm. He thought they were a nazi Band.

I remember the Ramones' appearance too.

I remember the great bands he would have on. An appearance by The Smithereens stands out in my mind.

The best thing would be when he would have a cool act seated next to a woman who would read the minds of housepets. And the interaction between them would be priceless! He treated all of his guests exactly the same way - Everyone Was A Star!!!!

Someone should start an Uncle Floyd thread. OOGIE AND MR. HUGO RULE!!! LOONY SKIP ROONEY!!!

The weather up here is fine. Thank you for asking.
