With all the excitement over the new season of "24" and all the boredom I'm personally experiencing without the NHL, I thought it might be worth talking about another quality (my opinion) TV show among the slagheap of awful reality crap.

I didn't get into this show until midway through season 1, then lost track of it midway through season 3. But thanks to the DVDs I'm up to date & can't wait for the new season to kick off, which it does tomorrow night.

Last season ended with Lauren getting shot in Sicily after tipping Sydney off to a safe deposit box in (?) where she found what appeared to be more proof that her father programmed/ruined her life when she was younger. Her half-sister is at large & with Sloan, the sisters' prophesized battle to the death looms, their mother can't be far away, and this Rambaldi fucker's master plan seems near being unveiled...much as it has countless times before.

But anyway...just wanted to see if anyone else is excited for this show, too. Here's ABC's blurb on it:

Season Premiere: Wednesday, Jan. 5
"Authorized Personnel Only, Parts I & 2"

In the season premiere episode, Sydney, Vaughn, Jack and Dixon are stunned by CIA Director Hayden Chase's (Angela Bassett) choice to be their new boss. Meanwhile, Sydney and Vaughn's possible reconciliation is surprisingly in doubt -- even though Lauren is dead -- and Sydney learns an appalling secret about Jack that threatens to destroy their relationship.

Additionally, against Sydney's vehement objections, her new boss partners her with Jack to hunt down a modern-day samurai; Sydney's half-sister, Nadia, is reluctant to return to the spy game since learning the truth about her father -- Arvin Sloan; and Vaughn and Jack share a surprising bond over Jack's unspeakable past misdeed - much to Sydney's chagrin.

Even with all the anticipation of the first episode, I allowed myself to get distracted several times & never ran tape. Hopefully the episode makes it to Kazaa soon so I can re-watch it this weekend.
