If you've ever watched an NBA or NHL afternoon game on TV, you know what I'm talking about - the announcers will always remark that so and so is having a "great game tonight." And the players and coaches do the same thing when they're interviewed after the game - "we just went out there tonight and took care of business," etc.

Now, when you've heard it one or two or three or ten times, fine, I get it, you're used to doing night games, so it's just a slip of the tongue. However, it's become so prevalent, I have to conclude that they're doing it on purpose. It can't be that hard to remember it's day time.

When this happens, you getting upset about this, do you have an angry wolverine hanging off your crotch? Because the cause of your irritation is probably the Wolverine, not the announcers. Just a guess.

Wolverine? It's probably some old senior citizen. Maybe tell the old bag to take out her teeth and roll some blunts while she knobs you. Flatten her big blue hair so your drink stays better too.

Turn the radio on with the TV. The announcers are usually better on the radio.

It's either day game or a night game. What's so hard about remembering if it's day or night? THIS MAKES ME VERY VERY VERY MAD. IT MAKES ME WANT TO PINCH SOMEONE.

I have the same problem with people saying "real bad." It's not real bad, it's really bad. The word real in and of itself is not an adverb. You must use the word "really" when using it to modify and adjective such as "bad." Also, when using bad to describe an action, you would convert it to its adverb form. So if a team went out and did terribly, they performed "really badly." But, whatever, it won't make a difference saying this because people will keep on talking real bad tonight regardless of whether or not the sun is up.

I don't have a problem with it if it's a stylistic choice. But most people don't even know they're breaking the rule. They think they're talking real good.

I get more upset when I hear "differential" (e.g. "There's a five point differential between the game clock and the shot clock."). The proper term is DIFFERENCE.

TO ALL OF YOU:
Is there really any differential when they say "Today's" or "Tonight's" game,
or is it all just real bad?

Wow! Pissed off THREE people with ONE sentence! NICE!

I believe the problem lies with these Talking Heads, who usually do a night game, have been out all night, drinking and whoring, wake up all hung-over, and do not know the actual time of day, for a day game!
