View Full Version : Intern Agonistes

Leaving the intern alone in the studio with no resources is the one bit R&F do that I always start off cringing for the poor bastard but end up cracking up out loud. I should have hit the stop watch on Benicchio (sp?) to see how quickly he started running himself down. Pathos + cringe radio make compelling listening.
I think he held up better than Frighty Fright, though. Does anybody remember any of the other victims of this "treatment" in NY (or elsewhere)?

He wasn't an intern, but when they did it to Rutger Hauer...radio magic

I always cringe when they do that but its so funny. Al was very funny when he was left on the air alone.

By my recollection, the following are the people who have been left on the air alone:
Al Dukes
Billy Staples
Dumpy LaPresto
Frighty Fright
Wild Thing
Monster
Benicio
Rutger Hauer
Blind Guy visiting the studio (although I don't think they even left the studio for that one)
Heckler (who probably doesn't count, because they set it up with him ahead of time and let him use the phones)
Frighty Fright is the worst/best one, and I'd put Wild Thing as second. Benicio handled himself pretty well by comparison, although he does turn on himself, which is a great hallmark of the bit. The fact that he has his own radio show at GMU probably helps.
