I knew those friggin tools would vote for a fare hike. That douchebag Peter Kalikow said its something were not happy about doing but its something we have to do. Meanwhile that prick and the top brass of the MTA get to ride for free while we all pay for their fuckups
Fare Hikes approved (http://1010wins.com/topstories/local_story_351054748.html)

I own a car also. I live in the suburbs my monthly commutation for metro north goes up in March, I have to take the 4/5 train downtown to Fulton St. Anyone who works in the city does not drive to work. Since both my fares are going up I can complain as much as I fucking want.

That does it, I really going to see if I can get a car, I heard the commuter where I go is pretty good, and anything is better than paying 76 a month of shitty service.

The tolls on some of the bridges and tunnels are supposed to increase soon, too.
I remember when the MTA was crying poverty but had a multi-million dollar surplus. Now they're claiming they will come short on their budget again?

Then don't use the MTA to get downtown. I'm right by fulton street. Take the path to the WTC. 33rd and 6th to pavonia newport to wtc. you can walk to fulton st.

The Daily News ran a front page story a month or so ago about how you can bend your metro card in a certain way, then run it through the card slot three times and you'll go free. They placed spies at a dozen or so subway stops and found that hundreds of people were doing this to get free rides every day.
The article would not say how to bend the card.

I herd a rumor that you can use a magnet to increase the amount on the card. True or Myth?

Is this it? (http://sensibleerection.com/entry.php/42052) About bending the card? Not sure if its legit or not, but its likely illegal...

Amen Shuck. $76 a month? Doesn't cover my gas. Tickets $115 each, Lease, Insurance. My fuckin car has a total cost of a small mortgage. And for everyone griping about the fare, ask around. LIRR costs triple. Metro North, NJ Path about the same. Ask people in other cities what they pay for subway service. The NYC subway system is SUBSIDIZED by the Bridge/Tunnel tolls the CARS pay, and people still bitch when its raised 10 cents a ride. If it was free, people would still complain.

You could hold up a bank too. It is just as legal and ethical.

The MTA will be sending out it's fare collectors to get your money on the trains. Please give the extra fiddy cent to the smelly gentleman drinking out of the paper bag.
