Unbelievable movie. Easily the best DRAMATIC movie I've seen in years.
Hillary Swank is very good.
Clint Eastwood is great.
Morgan Freeman is AMAZING.
......and the story is just fantastic.

The story is basically about a girl who dreams of succeeding as a boxer and a aging trainer that, of course, doesn't want to take on another protegee. Sounds like a cliche....right? WRONG!

This movie is about sooo much more than that. There are some plot points and developments that really took the audience by suprise. Every single person in the theater was absolutely moved.

Please see it before you hear things about the plot. The studio (WB) has done very little promo so that moviegoers will "discover it for themselves" but, now that the movie has been nominated for a shitload of Golden Globes...I suspect that everyone will be talking about it.

If you want to see a movie and REALLY be moved by it...check out MILLION DOLLAR BABY.

Wow, I wasnt gonna see it after seeing the trailer, because as you said it looked like that awful cliche sports movie. But after a review like that and the golden globe nominations Im gonna have to give it a look-see...

I got an idea, an idea so smart my head would explode if I even began to know what I was talking about.

Ha! No.
My wife is an entertainment reporter here in Toronto (on TV and Radio).
The studio sends her (and a guest) to movie screenings with the hope that she will talk aboot it on the air.
Believe me...she will talk this movie to death but, it's hard because there are things that happen in this movie that you don't want to spoil for others.

I finally got to see it, without giving away any plotlines, it starts out slowly than an event happens and it gets real gripping. A great cast and great performances. Clint has done it again, a masterpiece. Clint and Hillary will be sure Oscar cotenders and Clint will be nominated for Best Director and win this time. Best picture????...so far there are 3, Million Dollar Baby....Finding Neverland and The Aviator...all really good films.

Go see it!!

He won once before for 'The Unforgiven'

I agree that 'Avaitor' will be nominated for a few awards but it wont win for best pic. Too long, but Leo and Kate will definetly get nods.

Perhaps this time around, Morgan Freeman might get some acting justice and win an award for a role that everyone is saying was phenomenal. He lost in a year where there were a shitload of great supporting roles nominated (1994).

This film couldn't possibly be better than "Baby's Day Out." A film about a baby.....and his day...out....and all the laugh-a-minute adventures that ensue!
