I thought it was called "Army Man" but it's not. It's an arcade game where you are an army guy and you can jump in and out of tanks. You head north the whole time. I thought there was a thread about this a while back but no luck...

i love old video games. about a month ago i picked up the Super Games package..which is about 100 older Nintendo games all stored in a controller..it comes with two controllers and the gun. i play Mario Brothers almost everyday. it also has Duckhunt, Wild Gunman, Paperboy and a bunch of other cool games. I believe Atari has a similar controller type game. it makes a great Christmas gift for only $50-$60.

Don't mind Ed.

I still have my dreamcast, but I only play it for one game - Fire Pro Wrestling D. I was playing NFL2k2 on it, but ESPN NFL 2K5 has surpassed it bigtime.

I don't play any old games since I don't have an old system anymore.

Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past is amazing. I used to really like North and South for NES. It was a game about the civil war.

Legend of Zelda: A Link To The Past is amazing

You sir are correct. One of the greatest video games ever created.

The title of this thread was extremely vague, so I'll just list my favorite games for systems since NES:

NES
1. Super Mario Bros. 3
2. Super Mario Bros.
3. The Legend of Zelda
4. Metroid

SNES
1. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past
2. Super Metroid
3. Super Mario World
4. Yoshi's Island

Genesis
1. Gunstar Heroes
2. Sonic the Hedgehog

N64
1. Super Mario 64
2. Goldeneye 007
3. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
4. Conker's Bad Fur Day
5. Mario Kart 64

Besides that, Soul Calibur and Jet Grind Radio kick ass for DC.

with those you have to be careful which ones you buy... my sister got me one that says it plays over 47000 games but the only difference is a three letter code at the end of the game title.... there is no difference in the game play in the different versions

I'll say Dreamcast can just for the fac that is has such a cult following. There are hardcore Sega fans who still play the system every day and many are on a mad race to collect every game in sight.

Playstation is way too mainstream to be classic at this time. Though, it did just celebrate its 10th birthday in Japan.

Final Fantasy VII brought in the era of cool CGI and FMV. The story, on the other hand, sucked. Way overrated. If Final Fantasy VI had the same production values, it would easily overshadow VII.

Playstation is way too mainstream to be classic at this time.

That don't make sense. To be classic a console would have to be popular, and I believe that the Playstation is the best selling home console ever. It certainly more popular than Dreamcast.

And, besides, most of those same people rabid over the Dreamcast are Sega fan boys who are also tracking down the awful Sega CD, 32X and Saturn.

TheKnicks23
12-08-2004, 12:16 PM
My point was that in 2004, there were STILL games being manufactured for Playstation. Theres nothing classic about that. The system has to be out of circulation for a while to be considered classic.

Also, the difference is Dreamcast was truely a great console. Saturn was OK, but CD and 32x sucked. Still, it doesn't matter, its people trying to hold on to Sega, which is a great thing. The ones collecting Saturn and 32x games are the ones who have massive animosity towards Sony.

Its probably my connotation of the name, but when I hear "Playstation" its anything BUT classic.

I think Dreamcast can definitely be considered classic by this point. I don't know how much time has to go by for something to be considered "classic" though Dreamcast was killed a few years ago and still holds as TheKnicks23 says a cult following to this day. I also believe Dreamcast greatly help raise the bar for the video games are made. I consider it a classic.

I remember playing NARC in the arcade, and LOVING it. What great graphics and fast gameplay! And when you shoot the rockets at the perps, their fucking bodys explode, and heads roll around on the ground! This MUST be what the real war on drugs is like!

So when I heard it was coming out on NES, I HAD TO HAVE IT.

That was easily one of the biggest let downs of my life, and the 1st time I really started to understand about graphics. The game looked like shit. I still played and beat it many times, but I yearned for that clean Arcade look.
