I know Marvel's intentions are good, but they tried two similar titles in the last few years...one that focused on firefighters and police officers and EMT's, and then another that covered "real life" issues like terrorism...both had their hearts clearly in the right place, but were incredibly hamfisted and, quite frankly, awful.

I have the sinking feeling it'll be the same thing here...Marvel just has never really been able to pull off a good "real life" comic.

Except for The 'Nam. That series fuckin' RULED.

But obviously, this new one isn't about being "cool"...and the idea is good...I just worry about the hands the execution of the title is in.

I had trouble with the Nam after the first year, when the original crew went home or died. I just couldn't find myself getting into the new characters.
