Man, that's some classic episodes. So they took like a year for the last one, and only 5 or 6 months for this one? Must have cut back on the commentaries or something.

And Cape Feare is my all-time favorite episode.

[size=2]Best line ever. The Season 4 DVD took less than a year, so I don't thinkthey rushed this one. The Amazon page lists a shit load of commentaries, plus a special featurette on the 100th episode. I think they're just getting used to making these.

Conan wrote Rosebud, and was a writer for Treehouse of Horror. He is listed on the commentary for the Treehouse of horror, but he might have a hidden commentary on Rosebud, like he had in Season 4 for one of his episodes.

And this screws me up. I didn't buy season 4 because I figured some one would get it for me for xmas. Now with season 5 out, i'm going to have to buy season 4 myself.

I just got this, and I just finished the first disc. This is the fucking shit. I remember these epsiodes so well, but there are little bits that I forgot that had me on the floor (I KILL YOU SCUM!) and others I remember well that still had me on the floor (Sideshow Bob and the rakes). Cape Feare was so much better than I remembered it. If you are just a casual Simpsons fan, I think this is the season to get.

The commentaries are good too. The commentary on Homer Goes to Collegewas almost all about Conan leaving the show, and it includes a story about Conan's cameo later in the season that's both amazing and hilarious ([color=white]They wrote his cameo before Conan got Late Night.[color=navy]). And Jon Lovitz is on the commentary for Homer's Barbershop Quartet for no apparent reason.

So, to summarize, I'm only through the first disc and it's already superb.

If I'm not mistaken, the original plan was to release 2 or 3 seasons a year. Since season 1 was released 4 years ago, we're only up to 5? Damn. By the time they all come out, the original fans will be in nursing homes!!!

I think that since the show is still alive (barely) they are holding out on the disc sets so that they can milk it for all it's worth. After The Simpsons finally get cancelled (or in my opinion, put to sleep), they will start coming out with the sets a little faster, like with friends and family guy."You're all here to celebrate the thousand-year aniversary of this anchient society...now lets all get drunk and play ping-pong!"

I just got Season 6 today, haven't watched any of
it yet, but the case is more cheap looking and awful than the picture
suggests. It's difficult to open. It's poorly designed. It's SO BAD
that the first thing you see as you open it is a little card inserted
with a number on it that you can call and have a normal case mailed to
you. I'm not joking. You shall see if you buy it.

It's $3 shipping for the old style box, I've already sent for mine. You can see details at <a href="http://www.simpsonsbox.com/">www.simpsonsbox.com</a> The Homer Head box looks like it would be a cool idea, and the inside of it is great (there is a "Who Shot Mr. Burns?" theme to the packaging inside) But the plastic is flimsy, hard to open like HBox said, and it doesn't stand up on it's own. It comes with a plastic sleve with sides that look like they tried to mimic the look of the Season 1-5 style box sides.I think it's a good idea to change things around, and it seems they wanted to have groups of 5 (5 box's with the family inside a TV on the cover, 5 Heads, 5 whatever for Seasons 11-15) I think 20 season box would get boring.<a href="http://www.xmradio.com/programming/channel_page.jsp?ch=202" target="_blank"><img src="http://scripts.cgispy.com/image.cgi?u=skw" border="0" /></a>

I haven't checked yet, but I will definitely call
the number. It's SOOOOO awful. The material it's made of is close to
the hard plastic used in blister packs, like the ones used for
headphones and stuff and you need to use scissors to stab it and cut it
open. It's also a little transparent, which makes it look even worse.
And then when you open it, there's a little cardboard paper on the back
of the front so you can't see all the way through the packaging. It
ALWAYS falls out, and it won't stay in place. It's always falling out
and getting in the way when I try to close it, making that a pain in
the ass. I can't imagine how anyone could have approved this
packaging.

season. I'll be going at least until 10, and then I'll look each season
and decide. I don't think it starts REALLY going downhill until
sometime after 10.

They all have started to blend together for me. I do remember this being one of my favorites. I think they will be going back to more traditional
style cases after this one. They probably got so many complaints about
this case that came in too late to change it and that's the only reason
they went forward. This is costing them money: Having to produce a
second set of cases is costing them some money, even though people have
to pay $3. They won't make this mistake again; any redesigns in the
future will be less drastic.

 The plan is to do all
5 fmaily members thru season 10.  There are pictures on the 'net
of all 5.  Of course, Bart is Season 10.

you (or anyone) get yours yet?  I sent mine away like 2 maybe 3
days after the set was released and finally got it today. The box art is much better on this one than any of the previous 5 sets. The one thing that is ticking me off, while very
minor, is that the DVD's slide in through the top rather than the side
like the rest of the sets. Like I said, very minor. I'm much happier
with the box than that Homer head.As for "Jumping the Shark", which happened first? Bart joining a boy band or Lisa being on Springfield Idol?

December 13th, and thsi time they are releasing it in two different
editions, one with the horrible packaging from last season (Marge this
time) and another with normal packaging.

The replacement packaging on Season 6 stinks too, there's no top flap. You hold it upside down and the disks will fall out.

I got mine from Best Buy today, This show was so good then, really makes the last few seasons look even  more shittier. Plus I finaly found out who shot Mr. Burns. I will blindly buy these set until season 10 after that I just dont know.
