Anyone have any recommendations for a new videocard at or under $100?

My current system has an adequate videocard (ASUS 6600 Deluxe (GeForce 256) videocard 32mb)though I would like to move up to a more powerful card that isn't too expensive. I don't have an interest in a highly powerful $300-400 card at the moment because I'd rather wait until the new Windows comes out around 2006. So in the meantime I'd like to get a new card that will do the job and hold me over until I build a new system. I don't plan on building a new computer until sometime next year so I want to be able to get by.

I've been looking into ATI Radeon based cards, as well as cards with the nVIDIA chipset. Is one card better than another, or in this price range they're pretty much the same? From what I can see the video cards that have nVIDIA are cheaper though I don't know if the Radeon is any better. I'd also like to have around 128mb on the card if possible. If anyone has any recommendations in the $100 range please let me know. I don't mind going a little over as well, though if possible I'd like to keep it under $100.

You can get good deals at the computer show. If you live in the NYC metro area, they have them going on every weekend

It's funny you mention that, I was just looking at NewEgg's website, they have the Radeon 9600 Pro for $113 (http://www.newegg.com/app/ViewProductDesc.asp?description=14-240-020&depa=0)

In that price range you'd probably be better of with ATI cards, but you won't be sorry with whatever you buy. I'd reccomend that 9600 Pro.
