My friend from Maryland brought over his X-box and he had like 30+ games X-box in his system. I don't know about converting other systems though.

I dont follow the platforms, but I read boatloads of hacks and hard modifications on these things to do all sorts of things they werent intended to, and that the manufactureres really wish you wouldnt do; but screw them, this is where product innovation comes from; if someone makes a Mod cool enough, useful enough, you know the manufacterer is gonna try to incorporate it.
Now to show the fossil in me, anyone else remember the Original Super Mario/Duck Hunt NES system? They came out with this weird looking thing, like a fucking spatula, that you put in the NES and the game went into that, and it could do something like, shit was it as simple as saving scores, or progress? I'm pretty sure it was full of cheats and shit.
Oh yeah; its done with some music stuff enough the instruction manual tells you how to do the mod. For some Mackie Mixers, they tell you which resistors to clip and bypass, and what to solder where, in order to Modify the board in a way some wish to.

What about the game shark? It allowed you to access the codes that are written into games to help out the beta testing process (like inviciibility mode etc).
Back in the day I was the only one of my friends who could solder so I was the go to guy for mod chipping the PS1. Oh the fun one could have with a Blockbuster rental card and a CDROM burner...muhuhahahaha
